I purchased a 1948 Chevy 5 window pickup truck from World Wide Vintage Autos in February 2013 .......
This truck was advertised on Ebay, the posting stated that the truck was a recent complete frame off restoration including the motor. included with this posting were numerous photographs, by all accounts and repeated acclaim as to the condition of the truck i decided to buy it. I paid $16,900 pluse $1,200 for a enclosed shipping transporter. On the day the truck arrived it would not start and had to be pushed off the hauler . I jumped the chevy and decided to drive it around the block. i knew after shifting out of second gear and hearing the sound of screeching metal on metal at this point i knew i was in trouble .
Jump forward March 2016, Replaced
!. Drive Shaft
2. Rear end
3. engine that was advertiused freshly rebuilt
4. carbs
Total repairs as of date $ 7000.00 plus and i havent even driven this truck yet . if anyone see's or thinks about buying a car from world wide vintage auto, "STAY AWAY " there story is the always the same. Newer restoration , clean, amazing, etc.etc. these guys do a quick makeover on their vehicles and sell them as purported restorations as if someone else did the restoration . Look at their advertisements and draw your own conclusion, I wish I did my homework.
