Complaint Review: white birch restaurant scum pit - tupper lake, saranac New York

Sorry, all, but I can no longer resist. This whole thread should be the subject of a future Jerry Springer show.

I am an ex-employee of the now infamous white birtch cafe, and am here not to tell any of you that it is a good place to work. it is not. it is hell. i worked there for a period of nearly five years. yes, that is 5 years, of Jim Foti's verbal abuse, maureen foti's dirty looks, and the hell hole that was entailed in working with these people. In my own view, the managerial stylings of said people, were atrocious. i whitnessed countless people quit after only a day of work, sometimes not even that. Appauling as the terrible duo was to work for, i did learn that work is not fun. i also learned that it takes a strong individual to put up with the crap that is dished out there. As for Tupper lake, and the general populus, it is not a matter of just the peoples ignorance, Tupper lake is a destitute, relentlessly gutted, area and the people are the way they are, because there is really no outside influences. there is no tourisim, there is no facilities for the kids and those who would like to have anything at all to do. The kids there are the ones who truely suffer though. in that community there is so little for the people to do, the police are actually, activly (in my own oppinion) on a campaign to try to get the kids on such programs as pins, or worse, they try to get as many kids arrested and put into the system as they can, just because there isnt any other form of recreation for them. not too mension the chief of police being unsuited and unlicensed to carry a fire arm. that town is so a*s backwards it is sad, and unfortuinately there is nothing any of the current residents are going to do to try to change it. That is my thought. and in response to many of the other posts on here, i agree mostly but disagree that the entire population is completely worthless. I am currently enrolled in college, trying to make my childrens lives better and there are many more people from there doing the same. i dare anyone to rebutt that.

I worked for Jim and his wife briefly. He is an ugly, hateful, racist , individual. I would NEVER patronize his business! He was degrading to the female servers, constantly screaming profanities! He is a known racist. In short, Jim is an affront to all humanity. It looks like he is finally getting his due.

I gotta agree with you Jasper. Tupper Lake has it all. Something for everyone. You got gangs of trailer house dope whores (see Jim hes the local pimp) plenty of bars and just about anything a man could want. Hell Jim can even get you a job with the state leaning on a shovel. Oh wait I think they ordered the ones with kick stands from California. Anyways hope to see you there. Always laughing my a*s off at Tupper Lake

Instead of you TL'ers slamming each other, why not pull together and make Tupper Lake a place that people want to visit. I've read thru all these reports, and look for new postings daily. I've shown this site to all my friends and co-workers, and we all can't wait to take a group vacation to Tupper Lake, to see what it's really like. Maybe I'll sell my house here, and move there to retire.

Uhm.... In response to the post written to Michelle. You know, the one just above mine...degrading Michelles spelling. First of all, I agree but I can't help but wonder if the person making fun of Michelle is intentionally mispelling words, hav for example, or if she they really are scraping the bottom of the stupid pit. Honestly, I am not a TL'er but I live in the area and I am embarrassed that such lack of basic english, grammar and punctuation are so patheticly abused. It's clear the educational system needs work but not the self esteem. Because it takes a special kind of stupid to not only rape and pillage the english language...but to gloat about another doing the same is dillusional and just plain comical.

I am from a bigger town than Tupper Lake about and hour or so away. I know how unintelligent some of these T' Lakers can get but I have also lived "down south" as well. I've lived in the back country of Florida, Memphis, and a few different places in Texas.

As much as I dislike Tupper Lake folks, I despise southerners. Do you really want to challenge intelligence here? Most people I knew from down south were'nt smart enough to be idiots and just speaking with them lowered my IQ. Finally, Tupper Lakers will be who they are...BUT they are still a cut above the shriveling "south" whom by the way lost the war to among others, ..TUPPER LAKERS. GO YANKEES!

I HAVE AN IDEA. SINCE EVERYONE IN THIS TOWN SEEMS TO HATE EVERYONE WHY DONT WE JUST BLOW YOUR TOWN UP AND USE IT FOR A ANIMAL SANCUARY. From the other side. I agree with the unhappy patrons and ex-employees. If you don't share your life experiences, we all would make the same mistakes. Why spend your hard earned dollars were it's not wanted. Chalk it up and move on. Thank you for sharing your feelings and opinions. Let's not forget what we all have been through. Smile on those whom have lot their sunshine.

My boyfriend used to work there when they first started and when he did, he got s**t pay (what else would you expect) and the guy is just a a*****e and not to mention a pig.

Their food is not all that good and he expects to much for the pay he is giving and he has NO CLUE IN THE WORLD on how to treat his employees, customers or his WIFE. Who I have seen the arguments and I have seen the marks. But that is her choice to stay with him.

I myself used to babysit for them and everyone told me to watch out for him as he would just appear and then start to mention things, and that is EXACTELY what he did...So I left and did not go back. So, he is an a*s and don't know how to run a resturant or how to TRAIN his employees or keep great customers coming back. Don't know how he has stayed in business as long as he has.

to the ex-employee Rosie doesn't work there and she would not just say that stuff to kiss a*s.i've ate there plenty of times and i love there food. and yes i know where the food comes from i've even watched jim cook it.

He is a ok guy he may get mean after a waitress makes countless mistakes. you probebly couldn't do anything right and made the same mistakes over and over again. you should blame rosie for speaking the truth about a great place to eat.

And also Jim doesn't not beat his wife he does everything in the world for her and their children. before you go and state false things may be you should get your facts straight. you need to grow up and stop telling rumors about people you may not like.

Ok so yes ur soo right...of course rosie clement is gonna support that place and pretend she doesnt really work there...lol ur pathetic by the way....and i was an employee at the White Birch a few summers ago...i actually lasted about a month only because i didnt work that often...i went home crying all the time...Jim Foti is a horrible human being...but his wife is ten times worse she is the anti christ...also while i was a waitress there he made me soo nervous and it being my first waitressing job i did make a few mistakes which i payed dearly for...once he yelled at me because i didnt remind him that he had bread warming in the oven for one of my dinners and it burned...since when is it the waitresses responsibility to remind the cook how to cook??? Also once i dropped a piece of bread on the floor and quickly picked it up and threw it away...expecting a thorough lecture for dropping it...instead i was given a lecture for throwing it out...Jim stated... and i quote..."WHAT ARE U DOING I COULD HAVE USED THAT!!!" also i do agree with u rosie the food there is pretty good..but after working there i will not support him and give him any money of mine..also who the hell knows where your food has been...Mr. Foti and his horrible wife should step back and evaluate themselves and stop blaming others for everything...they are constantly looking for help..wonder y?? yeah cuz ur so nice and wonderfly...thats y ppl quit...righhhtt...

OF COURSE AN EMPLOYEE WHO IS TRYING TO KISS a*s WOULD DEFEND THE WHITE BIRCH....(MRS. CLEMENT). I was going to the White Birch often, the food was great. But I stopped going because the last time my boyfriend and I went, we stood at the door for 10 minutes and none of the employees even acknowledged we were there. They did have a lot of customers at the time, but even for someone to say "We'll be with you in a moment" would be the
proper thing to do. But we got ignored.

I'd also like to add that my boyfriend and I, having gone there on a regular basis, were tired of seeing Mrs. Foti with black eyes, from obvious poundings she'd received.....

Rebuttal:
I am writing in behalf of one of the greatest eating establishments that I have been to, The White Birch Cafe. I do not know who wrote this, but I am sure they are the scumbags. First, I have ate there many times and find that the staff are very pleasant. They are always nice to my family.

Second, the food is outstanding and if for some reason the food was "burnt" they would have took it off the bill or cooked them a fresh one.

Don't assume you know who the boss of the place is because it is not Jim Foti, it's his wife who by the way still works there.

Third, when Jim says he's going to do something he does. He would not call the police on a low life welfare case a*****e that cannot even give his name on this report. If it happened to me somewhere I would "which"(spelled correctly) I am not ashamed of myself, but then again I have no reason to be.

The White Birch Cafe does have the staff, but for medical reasons
they had to close. They reopened on July 5, 2001. So, to conclude this I will say that without knowing who you are I will and everyone else should feel that you are a nobody who probably is holding a grudge.

Mister, watch you F*C*IN' mouth because your dirty mouth proves that you are the scum in TUPPER LAKE!!!!
