My husband is a long-time employee of Whirlpool Corporation. I have moved around the world with the company, and have even worked for awhile at the headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI. The appliance industry is a tough one. American consumers are not generally brand-loyal, they care mainly about price and value. You may notice that over the past twenty years, major appliamce prices have not gone up very much. It's not that they cost the same or less to manufacture, it's because of price wars between the major brands. Whirlpool has committed itself to offer superior quality. Generally, the products are exceptional. Regarding corporate greed, Whirlpool has opted to remain in the tiny town of Benton Harbor, MI because it is known that if the company were to move out, the town would die. It pumps millions into the local economy and treats its employees really well. Please don't slam this company; instead call the Customer Care Hotline and they will offer up a solution.

I love whirlpool...PERIOD. So this is going to be quite biased... Background: I sold appliances for THREE years, and of all the appliances sold I had ZERO complaints about people who bought mid-range to high-end whirlpool products...Not a single complaint from anyone (This spans their entire brand lines kitchenaid and kenmore included). By rating companies they are always highly rated and have a much lower failure rate than most appliances. That being said... ...If you singed yourself with the power burner, that is your own fault. You were obviously leaning against the stove because I have a whirlpool with power burner and I have yet to singe myself or even get close to the flame. Don't blame whirlpool for your own stupidity. That is not a defect nor is it a mechanical error. They will not and should not cover that at all. Feel lucky if they do... As for the first person, next time you submit a report, give us models dates and facts...Not some opioniated bull***t saying how much you hate the company. All you do is look like an idiot because you ramble on for many paragraphs saying stupid stuff that otherwise has been said by others already on other reports who have reason to hate. I dare you to search any manufacturer though and notfind people who hate it. Some people had bad luck with something and they dont like it. Customer service as it is exists purely due to government invertvention saying they must back up their products. If it werent for that you would be given a refrigerator and they would hand you a warranty card that said "Good Luck!". If it were truely defective they would have fixed it, but it isnt and they didnt so dont complain here. The price of appliances has remained so low as it is today because they use cheaper parts...If you were to build washers like they built them 20 years ago the average washer ticket price would be over $1500! Aside from that it is in your interests to make washers like they are today because they are better for your clothes and the enviroment... PS: Get a clue and turn your caps lock off

I agree with the person who made the initial post. I have had nothing but problems with my whirlpool "Upgraded" gas stove. The POWER burner burned my pj's. The design is poor, the enamel on the stove is thin and the cooking space is so small that when a large pot is on the power burner, the pot almost extends to the counter top. The flame is dangerously POWERful. I was told that in order for the power burner to be "fixed", it would have to go back to the factory but they are unwilling to do this. After the technician made an adjustment, the flame then went out when I had it on low. There were no windows open. I was in the back room of the house when my dog started behaving odd and I got a raving headache from the smell of gas. I have the extended warranty but the rudeness of the service person discourages you from calling them back for service. I have called them 3 times and the problem is not resolved. I filed a report with the consumer product safety commission but it seems they haven't learned their lesson yet...like the NTSB did with Ford and the defective tire reports. I guess the Consumer product safety commision will get around to it when enough people start dying. Like you, I am SICK N TIRED of being ripped off by corporate america. When Corporate america does not realize is that when corporations are unfair to the consumer, consumers will find a way to get back at them. It's not a good situation for either side. I say, take responsibility for your shoddy product, fess up and make the wrong a "right." Short of this, I have lost all respect for you and your product--eventually it WILL catch up to you. What goes around comes around.

I have over 20 years experiance with the appliance industry and many of those are associated with Whirlpool{the #1 name for quality and service bar none!} I am responding to a report that shows no facts regarding a service problem, instead someone is venting frustration with poorly chosen words.Get down to brass tacks and your Whirlpool problems could be solved in no time.
