Western express Lied stole Nashville Tennessee
we as a team went through orientation in oct. 2016. Brought a truck with us from quality. We were told by recruiting that the trucks were taking home between $1.50 to $1.60 per mile. After questioning that amount I was assured that the truck would net that amount, that they had an excellent customer base. First check I was (as expected) in the negative. I did not see any customer loads as I was expected to get my own loads from brokers....their reps at chrw, coyote, schneider, and such. Turns out the brokers had a deal with western to skim an extra amount of money off each load. I found a nice load at chrw and called a friend of mine that works there, and he quoted me a price to haul it. When I told him I was at western, he directed me to westerns rep at chrw. The western rep gave me a price on the same load that was $100 Less.
After questioning him about it, the load all of a sudden dissappeared. This turned out to be the norm, not the exception. Payday....seems western changes gross pay as well as fsc, that I negotiated with brokers. When I questioned my dm, he informed me that he would talk to his supervisor about it. Further questioning over a period of a couple weeks Warrented hostility from him. Never got resolved. Over a period of 27 years in this industry, I have never experienced such blatant thievery, or outright lying. This would probably be a good starter company because kids don't know any different, but, VETERANS STAY AWAY.
