Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW: EDitor’s UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to Wesley Financial Group, LLC for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

..The information provided in this report is based on comments made by Chuck McDowell during an on-site inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Wesley Financial Group, LLC. .
Ripoffreport Report Image
Ripoff Report Verified™ .. part of Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program. A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business...

Wesley Financial Group, LLC works with time share owners that feel they have been misled during the purchase of their timeshare. The company also works with individuals who no longer would like to own their timeshare. .

Mr. Chuck McDowell, CEO of Wesley Financial Group stated, “We have a competitive advantage because of our customer service department and the length of time the representatives have worked together. Additionally, I (along with other individuals) was the first to complete a timeshare cancellation. Furthermore, I have been in the business for five years.” .

The process for Wesley Financial to start working with clients starts when they acquire leads purchased from sources such as Jarrett Leads, data warehouses, individuals who perform courthouse retrieval, US List, and Google search results for timeshare owners. From there, a customer service representative (CSR) contacts individuals who own timeshares. They discuss the purchase with them to find out if they feel there was anything deceitful during their purchase process. If the prospective client does feel there was deceitfulness in the purchase process, the call is transferred to the vice president (VP) in the resolution department. The VP goes over the process with the prospective client to determine if the individual was indeed misled during their purchase of the timeshare and if they would like to cancel their agreement. If so, the VP sends the client a contract and once received, the cancellation process starts. During this process, if the CSR or VP discovers that the purchase of the timeshare is legitimate, the client will be informed that Wesley Financial cannot perform cancellation services. .

Wesley Financial Group LLC is ready to offer you a free initial consultation for your time share concerns. We are a consumer rights group that takes pride in assisting our clients by canceling timeshare contracts within the timeshare industry because of fraud, misrepresentation, and/or lies. Consumers are too often pressured into unnecessarily purchasing an expensive timeshare contract. Wesley Financial Group helps clients in seemingly helpless situations by standing by our clients, fighting for their rights, throughout the entire cancellation process. .

The company feels they can internally improve processes and procedures through hiring managers within the company. Wesley Financial states that they are taking steps to make this happen by hiring and training more qualified CSRs. .

McDowell stated, “Wesley Financial’s typical process for handling a complaint goes through the VP of the resolution department, who will contact the client and discuss the complaint with them. We assign a representative in the resolutions department to work one on one with the client and resolve the complaint. If no resolution can be made, we utilize the Better Business Bureau’s arbitration.” .

During the course of the onsite interview, Mr. McDowell described instances when a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received: “When a contract is signed, the client is informed that the cancellation usually takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months to complete, and sometimes cancellations can occur within 45 days. When this happens, clients become somewhat upset because they feel not enough work has been done. When completing a cancellation, we offer timeshare points to the client. Most complaints come from cancellations being performed more quickly than originally stated and are not usually escalated after discussions with our resolutions department.” .

Wesley Financial feels they are working towards their commitment to “do whatever it takes” at the request of Ripoff Report because the VP of the Resolutions Department was hired to head the department and oversee that clients have one on one attention to their individual cases. Mr. McDowell stated, “It means a lot to Wesley Financial, as a company that is an advocacy company working with individuals who have been misled or deceived when purchasing timeshares. It is comforting to know that Ripoff Report has the Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program to ensure that consumers are not being ripped off by predatory companies.” .

Additionally, the company mentioned that Wesley Financial’s only connection to the VO Group is that Mr. McDowell previously held the position of VP of Sales for them. Mr. McDowell was only there for 9 months and left because VO only employed two resolution representatives to handle the entire organization. He did not reel two representative could provide the level of service clients deserved. .

Wesley Financial Group, LLC / Statements from the owner Chuck McDowell. .

I started the very first timeshare cancellation company in America. Many years ago when you would Google "timeshare cancellation" you would only see one website, now you will see many. If you own timeshare, it is time that you learn the truth. If you feel that have been lied to, mislead or pressured in to buying timeshare, you have the right to cancel completely or reduce your ownership back to the level that you were happy. Give us a call and we will be glad to see if we are able to help you out of your timeshare nightmare." .

Chuck McDowell is the pioneer of the timeshare cancellation industry and it is apparent that he is extremely knowledgeable in his trade. They must be doing something right because they’ve been around for a long long time. .

Ripoff Report believes that the 2 postings on Ripoff Report are false. As stated above, Ripoff Report did a mailing to the 2 people that posted about Wesley Financial Group, no one responded to our offer for the company to make things right with them. We explain in our email to the alledged customer, the member business cannot sue anyone who contacted them or did business with them if they contact us back. Still, no reply. .

Wesley Financial Group has been listed at the top of the search engines on Ripoff Report with no complaints other than the 2 Reports that were filed where no one responded to Ripoff Report. Wesley Financial Group must be doing something right. .

Wesley Financial Group has no affiliation with any other company around the USA and they stand strongly behind the services they offer. Chuck McDowell has had a timeshare company sue him and try to put him out of business. Not only is Mr. McDowell is the only person to ever stand up to a timeshare company, he also beat them in a federal court. Obviously, a company that is out to scam or take advantage of people would not be able to make it through such trials. .

It is apparent that Mr. McDowell is an on-site CEO that is constantly working with and training his employees and personally working with clients. .

Wesley Financial Group V O Group, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee

Wesley Financial is a Scam and they are engaged in illegal activity.

Wesley Financial split off from VO Group because VO Group was under investigation for fraud.  They do all the same illegal things that VO Group does but just under a different name.  Chuck Mcdowell, the owner of Wesley Financial, is a former Vice President of VO Group.  All of the top financial officers of VO Group have been arrested for fraud.  When all the top officers were arrested and news hit the internet, VO Group just changed their name to VO Financial and they are continuing to do the same exact illegal fraud that they were doing under the old name.  (See news article below) You are just not supposed to notice the similarity in name and the fact that they are working from the exact same addresses that VO Group used with the same exact people and using the same exact fraudulent tactics. (Notice below that the address of both businesses are the same.) Basically, VO Group is scattering like cockroaches when the lights are turned on.   Do not give them any money.   I have alerted U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman who is the lead prosecutor in the case against VO Group about the most recent attempt to fool the public by creating many new corporations to try to hide identities of the criminals. Wesley Financial is just one more of these new id

Even Wesley Financials testimonials are fake. On the very first page they show you Victims of timeshare. The sad truth is those same people have been seen before somewhere else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2G11hGDrhc has these same actors talking about their situation, for a different company of course but which company was it that helped them. Surley not Wesley Financial. They have been open for less than 60 days and are telling their clients it takes a year two complete the process. So, with not having been open for more than 60 days and the process taking a year, How can you have anyone giving a testimonial? Its a shame, some people will never understand the bigger picture and only look at greed and money Watch Both videos, the one of YouTube from TAI and the one of Wesley FInancial. Sad! If you cant find anyone to say anything good about your company, Why not pay actors.

Most of the people who work for Wesley Financial are former timeshare salesmen for Wyndham. They were trained by Wyndham to use fraudulent sales practices.   They use the same exact fraudulent sales practices on a daily basis that Wyndham uses and that they berate Wyndham for using.  They will tell you how horrible the sales practices of Wyndham are and ironically, they are using the exact same techniques to get you to buy their services.  They will tell you, for example, that they are calling you because they are investigating a complaint that you or a family member made.  This is a lie.  They do not have any information that you made a complaint.  They just want you to start telling them all the things that you are unhappy with Wyndham about.  (or other timeshare companys).  They will tell you that they do this service for free.  This is a lie.  Just ask them if you have to pay any money upfront.  Of course, they will not tell you the truth but you will find that you have to send them a check for many thousands of dollars or they will not do anything for you.

You can do what they do for free.  You do not need to pay them tens of thousands of dollars to help you. They just lead you to think that they are doing something for you that you cannot do yourself.  All they do is tell you to stop paying your money to Wyndham.  If you do not pay Wyndham for 90 days, they will issue a deed in lieu automatically.  This happens as a matter of law.  It is simply a quick foreclosure process that is provided by law and Wyndham uses.  They make you think they have done some work for you but all they do is just tell you not to pay.  That is Step one of the fraud.  They get you out of your existing contract with your timeshare company.  Step 2 of the fraud is to buy points cheap from a secondary market for pennies on the dollars.

They then sell you the points for astronomical amounts compared to what they paid for the points and for what you can get the points for on the internet from 3rd parties.  The scam is complete and you will never know what they did.   They fleeced you and they made an obscene profit doing it.  So step 2 of the fraud is to sell you back less points than you currently own so you do not have to pay as much and you have rolled back the clock to a point where you have the amount of points that you like instead of the extra points that you do not need.

There are so many lies that they tell you that I cannot begin to list them.  One you should know about though is that they claim that a committee will decide if they will help you.  They will tell you that so many people want their help that they can only assist the people who have the strongest case.  What a joke!!!  They will take anybody who pays them.  They will also tell you that you have to make a decision in a hurry otherwise the committee will drop your case and they will help someone else.  Does this sound a lot like the tactics of Wyndham.  (You must buy today or you will not get this price again.)  They will tell you that this practice of Wyndham is misrepresentation and against the law.  They will not tell you that they use the same trick on you.

These people are professional liars and they use every illegal sales trick in the book to get you to purchase their product. These people need to be stopped. Until the FTC and FBI put them out of business for good, I will keep the internet up to date when they try to hide their identity again and again.

Adam Lacerda, VO Group Staff Arrested for Timeshare Fraud

CAMDEN, N.J. (April 18, 2012) U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced yesterday that nine people from southern New Jersey were arrested for their alleged roles in a $2.4 million mail fraud conspiracy involving timeshare mortgages.

Seven others were also charged in the conspiracy and will have initial court appearances in Florida, South Carolina, Virginia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands before going to New Jersey to answer the charges in Complaints unsealed yesterday. The  defendants arrested in New Jersey were expected to appear yesterday afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Ann Marie Donio in Camden federal court.

All sixteen of them are affiliated with The Vacation Ownership Group, (a/k/a VO Group LLC).

The nine defendants arrested in New Jersey are:

Adam Lacerda, 28, Egg Harbor Township
Ashley R. Lacerda, 32, Egg Harbor Township
Steven Cox, 48, Ventnor City
Ian Resnick, 37, Absecon
Ryan E. Bird, 34, Clementon
Francis Santore, 52, Northfield
Brian Corley 27 Egg Harbor
Catherine Bannigan, 57, Egg Harbor Township
Joseph Diventi, 32, Somers Point

Also charged are:

Alfred Giordano, 32, Horry County, S.C.
Vincent Giordano, 27, Margate
Joseph Saxon, 38, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
Aimee Allen, 26, Little River, S.C.
Genevieve Manzoni, 46, Lake Worth, Fla.
Eric Reilly, 33, Galloway
Eric K. Reiff, 40, Williamsburg, Va.

According to the complaint: In July 2010, law enforcement officers began investigating The Vacation Ownership Group, (a/k/a VO Group LLC). The investigation revealed that from at least March 2009 and to Sept. 1, 2011, the defendants, through the VO Group, participated in a fraudulent scheme in which representatives of the VO Group, often using false identities, telephoned owners of timeshare vacation properties purchased from Flagship Resort Development, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Inc., and other timeshare developers. They convinced the owners in some cases to submit money to the VO Group, purportedly to pay off the owners mortgages on their timeshares.

The VO Group claimed that the timeshare owner could pay off the mortgage balance at a substantially reduced amount often by as much as 50 percent the amount of the owners original mortgage by mailing payment to the VO Group at a Post Office box in Pleasantville, N.J. The VO Group representatives also got timeshare owners to send the VO Group money purportedly to have timeshares cancelled or sold.

After receipt of payments for the VO Groups service, the conspirators caused those payments to be deposited into a bank account in the name of the VO Group. Rather than paying off the timeshare owners mortgage, cancelling the owners timeshare, or selling the timeshare, the conspirators used the timeshare owners money for their personal use.

The investigation also revealed that in an attempt to cover up the scheme, the conspirators in most cases engaged in a bait and switch tactic by purchasing an additional timeshare in the victims name without the victims knowledge. The victim purportedly had assented to the purchase based on documents the VO Group previously emailed to the victim for signature even though the victim had been led to believe he or she was simply paying off the original timeshare mortgage.

During the course of the investigation, law enforcement officers interviewed approximately 225 victims of the conspirators scheme identified to date. Many of the victims are elderly. Law enforcement has determined that the conspirators defrauded the victims of more than $2.4 million.

All of the defendants except Alfred Giordano, Aimee Allen and Eric K. Reif were arrested Tuesday and are in custody.

Timeshare Cancellation Scam

#2Consumer Comment

Timeshare cancellation is the real solution to get out of a timeshare. When properly cancelling a timeshare, there is no further strings attached to the resort. It is important (however), to know the rules of timeshare cancellation . There are lots of companies that just want to make an easy buck and will even guarantee to recover all monies paid... if you pay them an upfront fee. This is an extension to the original scam. Never pay upfront to sell, rent, donate or cancel a timeshare contract. Do your homework and investigate the company you will choose to assist you with the cancellation of your timeshare contract as there are many who will tell you (what you would like to hear in order to empathize with you and get your business.) whatever necessary to get more money out of you.

Wesley Financial Helped Me

#3Consumer Comment

Wed, August 01, 2012

I have dealt with Wesley Financial Group and they ended up saving me $43,000. I had bought a timeshare and then added more to go to a higher amount of points. I was duped into purchasing more due to lies that if I rented out my points it would pay my mortgage payments and maint fees off and other lies. It put a financial strain on my family when I ended up having to make all those payments. I was contacted by a company out of Florida that told me they had buyers for my timeshare and I lost $2000 when I never heard from them again.

Wesley Financial Group contacted me in March 2012 and offered to help me. They told me that that they could get the $81,000 I owed my timeshare company reduced down to $38,000. Since I had already lost $2000 I did research on them. I went to the BBB and noticed they had only been opened for 7 months but had 0 compaints against them. They sent me contracts and I noticed they were using a lawyer by the the name of Wayne Halper out of Nashville. I was amazed when I researched him  and saw his accomplishments. He was the lawyer and manager for lots of people in the music industry. He had been head of Steven Speilberg 's Dreamworks Record Label.

He also is the co-chairman of the finance committee of the Country Music Association and Treasurer of the Country Music Hall of Fame. I Knew then that this was a legitiment company because someone of his stature would not risk losing everything by being involved in a timeshare scam. I signed the contracts and they did everything they promised. They got me out of my existing contract and got my debt eliminated. They then got me a new deed issued for the same amount of points I already had. I have since referred 4 other people to them and they got 1 of them out of their contract altogether that did not want any more timeshare. They are helping the other 3 out by doing what they did for me and reducing their debt.

To Peter of Nashville who wrote this that obviously has a vendetta against them, let me ask you a question? How Is saving me $43,000 plus high interest a scam? If they are making some money by getting the points from a wholesale company who cares? They still saved me $43,000!

I also found my dealings with Wesley Financial Group a lot different then what the poster said. They never told me they were investigating a complaint  a family member or me filed. They simply stated that they were calling timeshare owners  and I might have been lied to and were helping people out that were.

2. They did do a lot of work for me that I can not share due to signing a non-disclosure.

3. They never told me I had to do anything immediately or they would drop my case.

I have done further research on them after they helped me. The couple in the video is a family that the owner Chuck McDowell helped out with the company he used to run called TAI. They were helping Chuck out by doing a testimonial video to start his new company. If you listen to the video they never state that Wesley Financial Group helped them but always refer to Chuck helping them.

2. Chuck worked for the VO Group for two months and left them to open his own company. I read the FBI report and they arrested lots of people. I am curious when that case goes to court if Chuck is brought in as a witness for the prosecution.

3. Wyndham sued Chuck and his former partner with TAI. They went after them for sharing trade secrets and interference with their owners. Chuck and them won in federal court last week on all counts and its great to see a small company take down one the size of Wyndham. Looks to me that Wyndham is trying to keep their dirty secret from getting out that their sales people will lie about anything to get you to buy and are trying to shut these companies doing good services up. I wonder how much money Wyndham is losing off their books.

This person who posted this must be an ex employee of one of these companies with a vendetta or most likely works for Wyndham Nashville and is upset his lies are getting exposed and somebody is doing something about it.

I would recommend this company to anyone who a timeshare problems and all it takes is a little effort to do research. I also just received an email from Wyndham warning all their owners to avoid several companies. There are legitimate companies on that list. Funny how this comes out right after losing in court. Wyndham for sure is trying to cover their tracks. Again, wonder how much money they are losing  off their books to resort to these tactics.

I am neither pro nor con but I am not sure how these two companies are related and if you read these court filings for the VO group they are being prosecuted for diverting peoples timeshare mortgage payments to their company accounts. Is Wesley Financial doing the same and did the guy who started it get indicted too? I am all about Scam reporting but sometimes this gets to be a slander fest. If the owner wants to buy from secondary market what part of that is fraud? I am currently checking out Wesley Group and don't know how when and why they are in business. I am just pointing out facts about what you have written. If you can please fill in the blanks so we all know the truth. Do you know these guys personally I see you are close to them?
