one thing i do know, getting employees home is NOT a priority. we give plenty of advance notice and still are not sent at home on time... just a few days before it is time to head in the direction of home, every last little bit of work is squeezed out of you and you are sent in the opposite direction. they absolutely do not care if you need to be home for a wedding, a family occasion, etc. i even volunteered to work thanksgiving, christmas AND new years day to be able to be home to see my daughter off to boot camp. they are making me be home 2 days late by sending me north, when i need to head south.
this has happened to me 3 time out of the last 4 i tried to go home. and fellow drivers only tell the same story...
time to look for a new job i think. the only thing is, not too many trucking companies seem to care about their drivers. we are all in the same boat.
