Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Had two charges on my debit card that were fraudulent. Called to dispute them and without my permission they blocked my card, which I desperately need to use today. I was on the phone over an hour, and they were unable to unblock the card. I will be moving more than $60,000 out of their bank. They're ridiculous and horrible to deal with!

You make some good points, but here's the thing. A few months ago I had a couple of small charge on this card that also were not mine. I called about those as well, and the money was refunded, but the card was not cancelled (blocked). One would think the bank would have consistent processes for protecting their customers, and CLEARLY EXPLAIN the process BEFORE taking action.

That did not happen.

I still maintain that Wells Fargo sucks, and I WILL be moving my money to another bank (actually, I've been considering doing just that since Wells Fargo was fined $185 million a year ago for fraudulently opening accounts without the customer's permission).

Now is the time.

Sorry but as inconveinient as this is, not only do you not need to authorize them disabling the card, they are obligated to once there is suspected fradulent activity.

You reported the fraudlent activity on the card because you did not want to be held responsible.  Part of this "zero liability" is the responsibilty of the card holder(you) to not be negligent in the use of the card.  Keeping a card open once fraud is discovered is considered negligent.  While you are upset about it being disabled, you would be a lot more upset if it was used again fradulently for a few thousand dollars, and Wells Fargo telling you that you are responsible because you knew it was compromised and kept it open. As one thing these criminals do is to test the card out at lower amounts to see if they are good. Then they go for the big purchases.

Now, you still have access to your money.  Until your card arrives, you could go into any branch and withdraw the cash with your ID. You can still write checks, you can still submit ACH transactions online.  If you have a Credit Card you can use that and as soon as your card is back pay off the amount you spent on the CC from your bank account.

As for changing banks.  Yes, you can take out the 60K and go elsewhere..because you still have the 60K in the bank and not in some criminals hands.  But if you think any other bank would be any different then you will be in for quite a shock if(hopefully not) this happens again.
