Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I mailed a check through USPS with tracking number to Wells Fargo bank on 6/13/2018 . The check was delivered on 6/15/2018 at 7:41am. I called the bank and emailed everyday from that Friday morning and they keep telling me that there's no record of the check but my tracking number says it was delivered. So Where did my check go? Also, they keep telling me that they can't do anything about my problem. My money just goes missing and can't nobody from the bank do anything. What should I do about this situation because I'm very mad and upset about this?

Is this the address: PO Box 3488 Portland, OR??

Yes normally a check is deposited and then placed on hold. Meaning you can see the amount in your account but don't have access to it for use. This makes me think that there was something about the check that concerned them, that they determined it couldn't be deposited and should be sent back to you.

I mailed the to their PO BOX that's on the bank in mail kit of the envelopes they sent me. But, wouldn't they at least posted it for deposit before they put the check on hold?

1) What department/address did you send it to? Was it one specifically for accepting deposits or did you just mail it to a local branch?

2) Was the check made out just to you or to you and someone else? If you and someone else, are they also on the account? Did you (and if someone else, also the other person) Sign the back of the check?

3) Did you include a completed deposit slip so they know what account the check is supposed to go in?

4) Was the check from an individual or from a business? If a business was it a local or national business? This could have a large impact on if there's a deposit hold and if so for how long. Also the amount of the check will have an impact on a deposit hold.

5) Did you just have a tracking number or was it certified where a signature was required?

What you can do is to wait longer. Processing a check could take a week. You didn't say anything about who the check was made to. If it is to the bank, the person who is supposed to process the check (deposit it) may let the pile accumulate before doing anything (similar to government). I believe there is a certain length of time that a bank must process a check. One week is a reasonable time for them (but not for most customers). Nothing you can do at this point.
