Weintraub & Selth, now Weintraub Selth & Nguyen is a law firm that is scamming and defrauding people who are in difficult situations, but have equity in assets. They will over bill the clients, withdraw as attorneys, convert themselves from being the attorney to a creditor and attach the fees to the bankruptcy. Armed with inside information, they have about their clients, they will force the bankruptcy into a spiral so they can force a sale of the client assets and steal the money.

Personal Bankruptcy is one of the most emotional low points of an individual's life. Most often, one doesnt choose to be bankrupt, but is forced into bankruptcy due to a loss of job, business failure, health issues, death in the family or a business partner, or some catastrophe of sort. It's never a happy decision.

Therefore, stealing from, defrauding, harassing and scamming those who have hit bottom and are helpless is the most heinous of crimes.

Law offices of Weintraub & Selth, now Weintraub Selth & Nguyen was first started by Daniel Joseph Weintraub, California BAR number 132111. His partner quit on him due to his unethical practices and the story is well known in the legal circles. With the trail of victims Weintraub leaves behind, most Bankruptcy attorneys will not touch the cases as Weintraub creates a mess with paperwork that's not filed, missed deadlines and an active role in his part to discredit his own clients.

He was later joined by James Richard Selth, California BAR number 123420, a former orange county assistant district attorney who's career was stagnant and moved to Los Angeles away from the reputation in OC for a fresh start. Weintraub & Selth became an instant duo with each of their African American wives becoming best of friends and working at the Weintraub office.

Weintraub is a towering and arrogant namesake of the company who will tell you that he is the top bankruptcy attorney in California, if not the who nation. He has had clients claim they are California residents, just for him to file in California. He will also tell you that he personally knows all federal bankruptcy judges and that they dine and party together if not monthly, weekly. One can easily believe his claims when one sees how much wrong Weintraub has done to his clients and how he has gotten away with it.

Selth uses his former assistant district attorney claim to elevate himself and is more even toned and will try to impress you with nauseating details that mean nothing. He talks to clients in a manner that is courtroom like to intimidate the clients.

Most recently, Elaine Van Tuong Nguyen, a new graduate, California BAR 256432 was hired to appear at court on behalf of Weintraub & Selth. Nguyen has proven to Weintraub & Selth that she too has no morals and without any reservation will scam and steal from anyone. She is so good at playing teh game of setting up their clients, lying to court to make their own clients look band, Weintraub made her a partner and now operates as Weintraub Selth & Nguyen.

If you are wondering what motivates them, bankruptcy is a very procedural, time consuming law specialty. They cant keep staff long enough to train and keep. so instead of doing the job right, they take the money, withdraw and just rely on the court and the fear they instill in their clients.

Weintraub Selth & Nguyen operate out of a small suite in a building that is highly secure where theres no access without a security check. They have many compliants, but fight each with ferver to keep their name clean. The clients who they wrong cant access them because of teh security. They have a very high turnover and in interviewing former employees, they are not only disgusted by what they saw, but also afraid for their personal safety.

Bankruptcy is all procedural. Many individuals and companies chose to file Bankruptcy on their own. Its all based on filing updates, monthly reports, paying quarterly fees and coming up with a plan to satisfy the creditors. Though an attorney is a good idea, the only thing one guarantees by hiring an attorney is an exponentially greater cost.

If you feel you absolutely must hire an attorney, before you do, take their names to the bankruptcy building and go to the filing clerk's office. There, they have computers on which you can search cases and their outcomes by attorney. Most importantly, you can see how often the attorney withdraws, the fees that are charged, the fee disputes by clients, and the subsequent mess. This information isnt accessible via Google.

Ive followed the practices of Weintraub, Selth & Nguyen for several years and have interviewed their clients and former employees. I know the former partner of Weintraub who quit on Weintraub. Ive sent him plenty of business. I first learned about the predatory nature and scams of Weintraub while i was a law clerk for a federal judge. The judge saw the situations, but felt her hands were tied at the time. The judge and i have built a friendship purely due to the dialogs about Weintraub then and his continued defrauding of the innocent.

Attorneys Weintraub, Selth and Nguyen have a pattern of behavior where they say anything and everything to assure the client and then after the retainer of $35-$50k, they will over bill teh client to exhaust the retainer and demand another $50-$100k that they will attach as an administrative fee to the case, at which time, whats in their best interest is to force the case and ask the judge to sell teh assets. To accomplish this, almost immediately after the retainer, they will start to discredit their own client so the judge and the office of the trustee disregards anything the client has to say.

Many clients have disputed their legal fees, and each time, the judges have discounted the fees. However, its important to know that the client only gets one shot to dispute the fees while Weintraub will have the opportunity to file an answer to the client's motion. the client MUST file the strongest mostion the first time as Weintraub will most definitly lie to cover themselves up. Then the judge has to go by whats in front of her rather than the true facts.

I continue to review each of Weintraub Selth & Nguyen cases and have filed complaints with the Federal Courts and the California BAR. Weintraub Selth and Nguyen are all under investigation and are now in even greater of a hightened panic as their own legal defence costs are mounting. The law takes time to catch up. in teh meantime, if you have been scammed, please contact the California BAR and the local district attorny's offices. You should also create an account here and post any documents you may want to share. If you feel that your and your family safety may be at risk by publicly disclosing information, please send me an email at [email protected]
