It is unknown at this time who this client is, or what the nature of the case was. The complainant correctly points out that he/she could have lodged a formal complaint with the Arizona State Bar. The State Bar would have investigated the matter. This individual, for whatever reason, chose not to lodge a complaint with the State Bar.
With respect to the allegation that this firm, or its attorneys, threatened this individual in any way, or threatened to "put a lien against their home if they did not settle," that is simply outrageous on its face. There is no legal mechanism by which a lawyer could place a lien on someone's home because they were unwilling to accept a settlement offer. Again, if true, the State Bar would have investigated the matter. This individual's claim that it is now "too late" is an excuse. It is never "too late" to report an attorney's unethical behavior. The more likely reason this individual did not report the complaint to the State Bar is that he/she has absolutely no factual basis to support the allegations.
It is quite easy to post random negative comments regarding a company on a website such as this because no specifics are demanded, and the person or company being attacked has to defend against and/or rebut general allegations, which is nearly impossible. Names are protected, and no other identifying information is required. However, here it is quite easy to see that this individual, whoever it is, was also not found to be "disabled" or perhaps not "credible" by Social Security given that benefits were denied.
This person is clearly not happy with the outcome of their claim/case. I am sorry for that. This firm strives to represent injured individuals, and to maximize their recovery. We do not "twist arms" or "threaten to take client's homes" if they do not wish to settle their case. In fact, this firm is well known as a firm that actively litigates cases rather than advising their clients to settle. Having said that, we will not hesitate to advise a client to settle when the facts and law do not support their claim, or where continued pursuit of the matter is not in their interest. I assume that is what happened here, and this client simply did not want to hear it. Without knowing the facts and circumstances, it is difficult to say what happened here, but again, it appears as though another agency also found this person's claims to be unsupported in fact or law.
