I received an offer in the mail to extend my auto warranty another year (as though this company were the original providers of warranty insurance). I called the dealer where I purchased my car to ask about it. It is not the same company they used to provide warranty insurance for me when I bought my car. The owner of the dealership suggested Warranty Corp. picked my name and address from the internet. I almost sent in the requested amount for a year.

Moral: Follow-up on these kinds of offers with those who you know and trust. There are too many scoundrels in the world today.

The advertisement mailed to this consumer did not offer to extend a current warranty. It was only an offer to provide warranty coverage in the event that her prior coverage (factory or after-market)had lapsed. Her information was obtained from a list compiled from survey information. In no way does our advertisement imply nor do we claim any affilitaion with her car dealership, another warranty company, or any manufacturer. The solicitation was actually an application for coverage and did not indicate that it was a renewal. In fact, the application would have been subject to our normal underwriting guidelines. We simply provide a quality product at a fair price. We apologize if this particular consumer was confused.
