I am a student pilot from Africa and wanted to do helicopter training with Volar Helicopter, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In order for me to get a study visa, I had to pay enrollment fees as well as a deposit. There are two ways of paying for lessons, the first is to pay as you go and the second is to open an account where fees are deducted after each lesson. In order to minimize bankcharges, I decided on the latter and deposited the full amount for the course.
My visa was rejected and I couldn't go to the USA for training. I informed Volar Helicopters immediately where upon they refunded me $5000.00 after 2 months.
Eight months later and numerous phone calls and e-mails later, I have not yet received the balance of the amount I deposited in their account.
Only two months ago, the director of the flight school confessed that they have a cash-flow problem, but he will look into the situation. That can only mean that they have used the money in my account for their cash-flow.
They never correspond with me, they keep me in the dark and all my e-mails are ignored. When I call I can never reach the person who is dealing with this matter.
It is very frustrating because my telephone bill is rocketing through the roof and I still don't know what is going on!!!!
