Visa Gift Cards 2nd time balance has been stolen off a Visa gift card Internet
This is the 2nd time I have had a Visa gift card number stolen and the thieves use the balance on the card. This processing company has no security measures in place to prevent this and has an unreasonably short period of time to report the fraud. The first time it happened, I believe the thief somehow hacked into the processor's website that is used to check balances. With the second card, I kept the card in a drawer, not daring to use the insecure website. It still happened - someone in California got the card info and drained the card balance. Once again, I will fill out their report and FAX it to them (how is it that in 2015 a company doesn't have a web based complaint process??). I do not expect any results from the processor, just as they were equally unhelpful and seemingly unconcerned that this was the 2nd such incident from me.
I now know that instead of saving the cards for when I am short on cash or overextended on credit cards, I will use the entire balance immediately.
