Vacation Travel Club ripoff Benton Harbor Michigan
This company is a total fraud. The members don't receive any type of special benefit that they can't receive else where for free. The claims that are made by their sales reps and the company in Benton Harbor are all lies. Because this company tells their members that they can same 50% or more on cruises, tours or condos, we, the travel agents, are not able to make any commissions, which is the only way we could make any money.
The lowly 7 dollars per hour this joke of a company pays doesn't cut it. When hired I was hired I was told that I would receive a review and salary raise after 90 days. That never happened. I was also told that I would make 10% commission. And I was told that the commission I would make would add up fast. After I recieved my first check I found out that it was 10% of the amount of the commission, which is total garbage.
How in the hell can you expect a person to make money when I had to take off all of my commission because of all of the savings that the sales people of VTC promised the members? I had to put up with verbal abuse, constant gossip which caused me undo mental stress from a least three people there. I can't mention names because I'm not trying to be sued for slander.
I also didn't not get paid for overtime that I earned. Regardless if the owner states that he will not pay overtime......if I am on the phone with a member and it's after 6 pm, I expect to get paid for that time. It's against the law not to pay it. I have proof that I wasn't paid by keeping copies of some of my time sheets. I was also told that I needed to get a lawyer to sue this company and I have to do it within a year after the date I quit. I don't have any money to do so. I was told that I have a case. If a lawyer wants to talk to me, please send me your information.

We do not acknowledge the employment of this individual. If they were employed with us, we would love to know their name to verify all their false claims. It sounds to me that this individual did not want to save our members money and wanted it all for themselves. If we did wrong, the Michigan Labor Board would have been involved and they were not. You hope when a company hires an employee that they would be honest and try to help other people and not be all for themselves. I WISH people would use this site for real constructive criticism. We were also told to lie to the members about how much we were saving them to make the company sound good and look better. This company is the most unprofessional company I've ever worked for.
