Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We attended a presentation in Charleston, SC, last week.  The first "membership" option we were shown was $8999.00, which seemed outrageous.  They gradually revealed other lower-cost options, making them seem more attractive.  We were guaranteed that we could book vacations at greatly reduced rates for destinations of our choice.  Those statements were made repeatedly.  When we asked sales people about several specific locations and packages, we were assured that the company could accommodate our requests.  We paid $3,593.00 by credit card.

After speaking with their representative, “Daniel,” I spent several hours on the Website trying to book a vacation package, filling in the criteria requested for location, etc.  Every single request came up as "No Package Available."  Many of the individual hotels and destinations are low-cost, such as Super 8 and the like, or at less desireable locations in a resort or city.  Some destinations we might visit frequently are not offered.  Again, this is not what we were told at the presentation and not what we were led to believe we were paying for.  In addition, the reduced rates they claim to offer can easily be matched or beaten on several of the more popular travel Websites such as Priceline or Orbitz.

Our investigation of complaints has revealed that they misrepresented the company as "LLC" in South Carolina, which they are not.  Also, they have been required to refund membership fees in several states, including South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Oregon, because of false claims about the company’s ability to provide its advertised benefits.  They have no offices at the Mount Pleasant address listed on some materials as their place of business, and the telephone number for it is nonexistent.  Furthermore, contrary to what we were told, South Carolina does honor the right of recision, so my initials on that portion of the Membership Acknowledgement were obtained under false pretenses, and I will not honor it.

We have instructed them to void our membership immediately.  Of course, we know they will resist doing that.

We have put a hold on the charge to our credit card and notified both the North Carolina and the South Carolina Attorney Generals' offices.  We will also contact our lawyer to pursue the matter in court if necessary to protect our credit and assure our refund.
