Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
During the Christmas season my husband received a phone call from the USA Magazine Exchange. They promised him a gold watch worth $200, so he said that he would take the magazine subscriptions. They did not advise him of any kind of cancellation policy, nor was there any in any of the paperwork that came in the mail a week later. When I found out what he had done, I told him that he needed to call them right away and cancel because we don't have time for them, and it was a big waste of money.

He and I both called and only got an answering machine wanting us to leave our name, number and account number...this was done less than two weeks after the initial call! I called my Credit Card company who is disputing this (they have also called the company and only gotten an answering machine!)for me but the charges continue to be put on my account! I have also written (a month later since I received NO calls back!) a letter to the Magazine company telling them that I wanted this cancelled.

I got a letter from them today, OVER a month after writing to them, telling me that "they have established our order as a result of a verbal agreement and that they invested a considerable amount of money in advance to various publishers and for this reason, our account is not subject to cancellation". Has anyone else found a way out of this mess? What more can I do? They cannot say that they have NO cancellation policy, which is what they are virtually telling me. I have sent all the magazines back and have yet to receive any kind of "gift" at all from them or anyone else.

Got a letter from the USA Magazine Exchange AGAIN today..they have now changed their name to Southwest Incentives, Inc. and they state that I must contact them within 15 days or they will be sending my account to a collection agency. I am sending them the check for $58.24 that they stated to the BBB that was needed to cancel the account, however I was originally told that the account could not be cancelled..and they have never sent any watch to my address! I think I will now be writing a letter to the DA in Phoenix to find out if there are other reports filed. I will also be sending along with the check ALL correspondence to them by me by letter..I could NEVER get through to them by phone other than an answering machine in which my calls were never returned. I will be sending them copies of the letters written to me also by them stating that there was NO cancellation of this order that could be made and then told the BBB that in actions such as that they do cancel.
I sure hope that other people get results...and dont EVER trust a magazine order company!

After recieving the letter from the Magazine Exchange, I wrote to the BBB. They recieved a response from the Magazine Exchange saying that they cancel, blah, blah, blah.... My subscription with them I guess has been cancelled anyway because my credit card company has credited back every payment that the Magazine company tried to take! I am going to be writing a thank you letter to the BBB along with a copy of the initial letter that the Magazine Exchange sent to us...to show that they are such LIARS! They stated that they dont ask for the credit card information on the first call...they make 3 calls to the person...what bologne.
Anyway..because of the BBB, I have gotten results! Dont let anyone take advantage of you...write your BBB!
