However, this is probably bogus too.

I was a customer of USA Bankruptcy Associates. Their service was so bad that I ended up giving up on it and hiring a real attorney to prepare my papers. They do respond to questions about how to fill out the paperwork, but then only through their website (no phone or email support per se). When they do respond, the responses are extremely vague, and are usually form-letter responses that fail to answer the question being asked.
They also charge too much for document preparation, in my opinion.
I'm not sure where the U.S. address on this page came from, but some research into their domain name shows that the server is in israel and the domain name itself is registered to "USA Bankruptcy Associates" in Canada, with a yahoo email address. (Yahoo email? come on...)
So: You'll be preparing your U.S. bankruptcy paperwork on a computer located in Israel and going through a company who provides a business address that is in Canada.
I wouldn't say this was a scam per se, since they do provide you with an actual product. The product, however, is not worth the price they charge. You're far better off finding a U.S.-based bankruptcy preparer.

These prior rebuttals seems to have no concept or even actually read what transpired. Non attorney bankruptcy petition preparors are listed per 11 USC 110. This is hardly a jealous attorney as was claimed by another but a person ripped off my illegal activity of the company. I have first hand knowledge of the activities of this company and they are in direct violated of federal law. After they have the money they stop responding to any messages and with only a 60 day limit in filing a claim for bank chargeback. As for the rediculous statement of getting what you pay for, the normal rate for a BK is $150 by a non attorney, so $185 with a guarentee is hardly below reasonable.

I don't know these fellows, and hold no brief for them at all here. But this individual, Crystal, strikes as something of a pathological "cry baby" and whinner! Crystal does not seem to have any REAL point. Much less any MAJOR or LEGITIMATE point. EVIDENCE OF THAT: she's just rambling and rambling around all over the place in her compaint, jumping from one minor purported "fault" of the bankruptcy preparers, to yet another minor and inconsequential one! Rather, she seems to have an underlying personal axe to grind against this company and the bankruptcy product they provide. She seems to have an underlying, hidden agenda here that she's out to pursue. Frankly, I'm beginning to suspect that this Crystal may actually be a bankruptcy lawyer masquarading as a "complainant." Apparently, she a disgusted bankruptcy lawyer who seems obviously aggrieved that these other persons are "taking away" her "jobs," since these bankruptcy preparers are providing a far cheaper (the average charge by lawyers fior a Chapter 7, is $2,000-$2,500, and some $3,500 for Chapter 13), far quicker, and in many cases, much better end product, than her fellow lawyers, and so she is now out trying to use the anonimity of the Internet to smear and try to pull down her apparently unwelcomed (unwelcomed by her) new professional "competition." She sounds to me to be a lawyer! An aggrieved and jealous bankruptcy lawyer merely crying for losing business - and the humongous fees they had customarily charged for bankruptcy - for the fact that there's now a better person doing a better job of bankruptcy, at a far better price, and far faster rate and better quality, than the "lawyer." We just won't fall for this! We just will not be fooled again - this time!! Thank you.

It's good that you realized their mistakes before you filed your paperwork, but you have to remember that most attorneys will charge upwards of $1200 for the simple filing of paperwork. That does not include the court appearances and extra consultations that will almost always be needed even in the smoothest of filings. However, you do get what you paid for, and 185 measly dollars and no physical address should have told you on day one they weren't the folks to pay. The fact is, anyone who can spell can fill out a bankrupcy petition. Working in the industry myself, I can attest to that--I've seen some crappy ones. It probably would have been better for you to file the papers yourself, if not with a licensed attorney. Each court district has its own website, where you can download the forms you need to fill out already conformed to that district's requirements. The sites also have help pages for pro se filers (people with no attorneys). What too many people don't realize is when you have to make a decision this serious, you need to investigate all routes of action, not just pay someone off to handle your future for you. Even if you were to hire an attorney, which you should have, you still should have been keenly aware of all your requirements because you can't trust anybody but yourself. And if it doesn't work out, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Best of luck to you!
