Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Do not ever bank with US Bank. I had a check sent to me, which I took a picture of with my US Mobile Banking App. I was told by email, that the check was good. I took out $200, because the banker told me I could. Turns out the check was fraudulent. My husband and I did pay the overdraft fee. Now they won't give me my online account back. Because I am a woman, they have been discriminatory towards me. They treat me like I'm worthless and won't even talk to me. A person makes 1 mistake, and US Bank makes them pay for it forever!! I have also been noticing that, at times, my bank account comes to a negative balance. They've been stealing money from me!! As soon as I am able, my husband and I are getting an account. With a new bank.

Let's look at what started this entire thing. You depsoited a "fraudlent" check, this is actually a crime and depending on the exact situation could have had you charged with fraud.

The fact is that every bank has to follow Federal Regulations.  Including Regulation CC(Expedited Funds Availabilty Act) that requires a bank to make the funds available after a certin period of time.  It does NOT mean the check is legitimate or can not come back, depending on the case it can take several days for a check to actually "clear".

This has NOTHING to do with you being a women. This has everything to do with you depositing a fraduldent check.  Because you deposited a bad check you are now seen as a higher risk by the bank. Because you are a higher risk they can limit how you access your money.  Just be lucky you still have access to it because in many cases the bank will just outright close the account and send you any remaining funds in 30-45 days.

You can move banks, and actually I recommend you do before this bank does freeze your money. But don't expect your new bank to treat you any differently if you deposit a fradundnt check with them. As for your account being in the negative quite a lot, the only reason it is in the negative is again not because you are a woman, but because are spending more than you have available.

As for the bad check, I can only guess that you somehow got scammed and hope that if that is the case you learned a valuble lesson to not accept checks from people you do not personally know.  Especially if they are asking for any money back in the form of Gift Cards or Money Orders/Money Grams.

George, you're a jerk. And a bully. This is the FIRST time this has happened. Don't talk about things that you know nothing about. How would you feel if it were your wife? Oh wait, lol. You probably don't have one, because you're a certified nutcase!! Shut your mouth before I get you for defamation of character. And yes, I can do that. You have no idea what happened. I guess common sense isn't as common for people like you.

I was told by email, that the check was good. Clearly; you did. The account is closed because you're now a liability. This decision is based upon your ignorant actions which the bank has to pay for. A person makes 1 mistake, and US Bank makes them pay for it forever!! Yes this is how it is in the real world; You've proven to be a poor client based on writing bad checks and claiming scam because it takes 3 days to clear.  Try a new account somewhere and stop money laundering. Thank you for the good laugh.
