We received our stuff after nearly one month. Our stuff was crammed into about 1300 cubic feet despite their urging and charging for over 2000 cubic feet. Our four bicycles were all scratched and badly damaged. My special lamp was shattered to pieces on the open floor space in the back of the truck. The overall damage was over $500 and we will submit a damage report. The driver hired two guys from a local temp service the day of the move. Actually the "temp" employees were more careful than any of the United Express employees had been. There was very little setup - these movers didn't leave us with any confidence regarding our belongings so we didn't press them to demolish our things once and for all. We did not have missing items though.
The worst part about this company is that they refuse to give any concrete estimate in advance and nearly everything is by surprise. The whole move was fraught with anxiety as we tried to contact the company and were put off time and again. They changed the delivery date several times although we were thankful they actually delivered our belongings. We are very distrustful of United Express now but also far more leery of moving companies in general. My suggestion: do your homework beforehand.
