United Cash Loans demanded return of overpayment of loans, falsely reported payments made ripoff Carson City Nevada
My wife and I lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the time we had contacted United Cash Loans for a payday loan - both of us were approved for $300 each. We were making payments on a timely basis but due to pay cuts from my job, and my wife losing hers; we attempted to contact UCL and were promised they would "do their best to work with us due to our financial hardship."
Well, guess what. We did manage to finally pay them off, but overpaid on our balances due after several unauthorized electronic withdrawls from our checking account. We caught them with this, and they agreed to refund $150 back into our checking account. This took place between November and December.
Shortly after we moved to the Kansas City area we received a notice of late payment from them, claiming we still owed on both balances. We had no way of contacting them to challenge this - lo and behold earlier this week I get a phone call from a third party claiming we still owed $465 total. Hogwash!
Even better, United Cash Loans is merely a "front" for some company ("Internet Cash Advance Marketing, Inc") based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. Oh yes, you have to dig through their website, but they clearly list a Vancouver, BC address. You'd think they would assume being across the border they can't be touched by U.S. laws. How did I find all this out?
I called the number listed in their "Privacy Policy" page and they confirmed their "loan office" is in Carson City, Nevada along with the number everyone else listed in their complaints; even though the agent I spoke with hesitated for about five seconds when I asked. Hmm. Hiding something? You decide.
I agree. United Cash Loans and their parent company Internet Cash Advance Marketing, Inc, need to be put out of business. Same goes for the third party agency they referred my debt to (and who else knows how many others?), Certified Recovery Systems LLP, Houston, TX.
