United Air Comfort ripoff business damaged my home Fort Lauderdale Florida
The tech. came out for a $49 vent cleaning and $29 a/c check up and gave me a $598 estimate for other services. I paid $275 for vent cleaning and "sanitizing", coil cleaning, and replacing the contactor. Two days later, I had water seeping thru the walls and thru the ceiling. A different tech. came out and did not seem to know why the water was leaking. I called his boss and he said the leak would be repaired and that everthing would be taken care of.
That tech redid a seal that the first tech had done and that was where the leak was coming from and said someone would come out to repair the carpet and ceiling. I called the Refunds and Damages Manager and she denied responsibility, insulted me and hung up on me. After they changed the reason 4 times as to why the water leaked, they essentially put the fault on me. I told them that the unit was working fine before they came out and the invoice from the tech states that the drain pan and line were in good condition. Also that the leak was coming from the so-called seal the tech made.
Their response to that was "not our fault" and would not do any repairs. I was left with a water soaked carpet that had just been installed 3 months ago and paint, sheetrock and insulation hanging from the ceiling.
