The tank was below a quarter and I showed it to Travis at the Sixth St location in Berkeley, CA and he said he would take care of it in the records. I shouldn't have trusted him. I had to rush to get gas because I was driving some distance and had a pickup appointment for furniture which is why I needed the rental.

I deserve credit for the gas I put in and a discount for the van being dispatched near empty (1/8). If it had more gas, I could have gauged how much to fill it; but since it was near empty and I was in a rush, I just filled it to be safe and returned it at 7/8 full.

I am so disappointed by this experience. The sixth street branch never answers their phone and I tried to call. He was gone before I got there and when I came the next day, a different guy, Eric was there and completeley unhelpful.

 Uhaul needs to treat its customers better and operate as a legitimate business:

1) give people rentals that are ready to go with gas,

2) don't lie and say there is more gas than there is- near empty, and then say you will put it in the records and not follow through.

3) give people credit for gas especially when you don't state the mpg for rental

4) answer your phones in the local branches and be open later.

5) Also, have the instructions for the web return on the door so that you don't have to waste all of your battery making multiple calls to customer service and waiting for several pages to download and trying to get good enough service to have the GPS work in a location with poor reception (stupid feature/ requirement).

I have received a number of survey request taking my time and energy, but not one communication from customer service about rectifying this poor experience and discount, even after multiple calls and trips into the branch. Then after more attempts, I got a response offering a coupon if I spend more money with them. I would rather have a refund than coupon.
