I won an item on a Ubid auction for a very good price. Several days later Ubid informed me that they did not have my product due to a "warehouse discrepancy". They said that I could wait a couple weeks for more to come in, or accept a $5 coupon for my trouble. I got a very good price so I chose to wait.

Several weeks later, I see that they are again having auctions for this item. A couple days later they inform me that they "do not have the ability to fill this order" and are canceling my transaction, and they once again offer the $5 coupon. The $5 will not nearly make up for the difference in what I won the auction at, and what the item usually sells for, so I persist.

I reply "There must be a way to get me my product. You have the product in stock. You are selling the product everyday. I don't understand why you are trying to cancel my completed auction, rather than sell one less of the item tomorrow." They inform me that "Your order has already been cancelled on 5/20/02 and you have been issued a $5 coupon for the inconvenience"

It make me wonder if they just don't want to honor my transaction because of my low winning bid.

It seems to me that uBid has done this to quite a few people, from the reports I've read here at ripoffreport.com. This particular incident caught my attention; For them to tell you that it wasn't in stock, then turn around and start up another auction for more of the same product. I believe these incidents should be investigated. Josh from CT
