Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We are living in Pembroke Pines, Florida. We, too, were told that we had won a free vacation to Las Vegas after a coupon we submitted in a mall was selected. We never remembered doing such, but, we attended their meeting date. The building was impressive and they came on strong with the benefits and savings to us when we would travel. We do a lot of cruising in our retirement. They promised us commissions as we became their associates. We asked for time to allow us to check on their past history and background. We had to sign up that night. Foolishly, we did, to the tune of $6200.00. We went to the first lecture course, and there were about a dozen signed up people like us. There were some people already complaining that they could get cheaper prices elsewhere through their regular travel agent. Next, we were sent a notice of Travelbridge's new location. When we went to the next course on "cruises" we were amazed to see the downsizing of their Ft. Lauderdale office. The staff of many were now down to 4 people including the lecturer. We were told that they had met their quota of Associates for our area and they would need no more. The Palm Springs office said that this was not so and such "quotas" were unheard of and not their policy. Evidently local offices have their own policy. We were promised FAX updates, specials, etc. None arrived until we called Palm Springs. At the local office we tried to receive information and assistance in booking hotels and cruises. We were referred to a mailbox to record our request. No one to date has ever responded. Sharing the commissions with Travelbridge would take years to maybe recover our investment. We have done better with an outside travel agent who refunds part of their commission to us. We were ripped off. After 9/11/01 better deals could be had without Travelbridge. We have been advised to consider our "Associate" investment as a business loss and take advantage of the loss on our income tax. We consider Travelbridge to be a high pressure clever scam. Retirees and others ---- BEWARE!!!! We would consider being included in any class-action suit.
