Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have had the worst dealings with TransUnion. My husband was a victim of identity theft, they purchased a vehicle in his name. We disputed just the vehicle and TransUnion proceeded to erase everything from his file leaving him with no score. We were in the process of buying a house and lost the contract. Also, though the Equal Credit Opportunity Act clearly states that it accepts "Authorized Users" as does FICO '09, TransUnion says that it is their company policy not to report this information though the Credit Reporting Agencies are transmitting it.

As for me, I filed a complaint with the BBB, Fl. AG, Fl. Dept of Consumer Services, the FTC, my Florida senators, because TransUnion fails to follow Federal guidelines and correct my file for over 1 year. I have sent them all the documentation and they refuse to update my legal & married name, stating it is not their Company Policy..what about the FCRA??? Also, the moment I complained, they blocked my online access to the file, re-added erroneous items they had corrected. My score dropped over 40 points. I now have to pay for truecredit to view my file, Though I re-dispute these erroneous items they have not updated my file since March 2009, which prevents me from increasing my score.

The representative from TransUnion Jamie James said she could not help me because "I chose a different route". She even had the gall to lie to a Florida State Senator, the Better Business Bureau, and the Florida Dept. of consumer services. I was so upset (been dealing with this since June 2008) so I sent documentation to my State Senator disproving all her made up comments. I sent this same package to the FTC. The FTC states they need enough complaints on a company before they take action. This is why TransUnion does as they please. They are running around ruining citizen's creditworthiness, because nothing is being done to curb their multiple violations of established federal consumer protection laws.

Someone should file a class action lawsuit for multiple violations of these laws, specifically since they are doing this with willful intent.
