I hired Touchstone Research Group to track down a copy of my DD214 - Proof of Military Service Letter. I needed the form to apply for a VA loan and had a very short suspense so I paid extra for the 3-day express service. Within 2 minutes of registering on the site I was called by one of their researchers. He assured me it would be no problem at all getting the form within 36 hours. It has now been 30 DAYS since I made my request and I still do not have the form. During that period of time I have been in voice and email contact with them at least 20 times. I was told that they have a zero refund policy.
I was able to obtain the paperwork I need through the assistance of a simlar company, Aardvark Reseach, within 12 hours of contact them so it's not as if the task were too difficult to complete. Touchstone simply didn't put in the effort. If they had accepted their failure and refunded my money I would not bother to file this report. What they did to me essentially amounts to outright theft. They took my money within minutes and then utterly failed to provide the contracted service. I was given excuses after excuse and then eventually told that they have no obligation to refund my money for any reason.
I contracted the New York BBB. They reached out to Touchstone Research but Touchstone never responded. I am now going to make a personal hobby to let as many people know about this company as possible so no one is scammed like I was.
