I went online to buy Riverdance tickets on 10/02/16 for a performance in March/2017. There was a link for tickets that looked like it was through Ticketmaster. I was dismayed to see most of the seats were already taken, 5 months before the show. What was left was pricey but it was a gift for someone so I went ahead and ordered 2.
When the tickets were added up, the price was $195.55! I was shocked but figured it was because that's all that was left and they must be awesome seats.
The tickets were ready to print in late December. I didn't pay much attention to them until showtime in March. That's when I saw on the show website that lots of tickets were still available for $30. Wait, $30?
I studied my tickets. The place I bought them from in October didn't even buy them until December 29. The name John Elliot was listed on the tickets as the buyer. They paid $30 a piece but charged me nearly $100 a piece. And the seats were for in the "nosebleed" section.
Moral of the story is do not buy tickets through Theatreland America. Total rip-off!
