The University of Phoenix Online was very smooth and persuasive and told me that my credit hours toward my BS would transfer to their degree program. I spoke with Ken Czech often and he assured me that I wouldn't be taking repetitive courses that I didn't need. So, I agreed and enrolled and my first course turns out to cost me around $1200 and it is a course in how to go to the library and write a paper.
I am a Registered Nurse who is only a year from a BS in nursing, I know how to use the library and have written countless papers. I have let them know this from the beginning of the course and was reassured over and over that this would not be the focal point of the course.
Well, it is nearly over and is such a huge waste of time that I cannot even finish it. They told me I could withdraw, but they will charge me $675, then they told me that I could not withdraw and are charging me the full amount. I don't think I should have to pay anything for a course they chose for me and which I did not want.
I heard almost daily from Mr. Czech during the time he was getting me set up with this program, but have not heard from him since I told him that I was not getting what I paid for and wanted to drop the course. He did tell me to speak with my advisor. I have done that and to the instructor and they ignore me.
