I was first contacted by the Secret Society in August, 2014. I received a lengthy letter saying that this so-called Society knew me and had chosen me because of certain personal traits. They offered a 55-page booklet for free, and stated that I needed to take advantage of the offer quickly because the planets and stars were in alignment for my prosperity and happiness. They assured me that everything was free.
I sent for the booklet, which turned out to be a collection of stories about supposed members and how they had found their way to the Secret Society. Along with the booklet I got another lengthy letter which turned out to be an offer to buy their gold-embossed, leatherette 1200-page volume containing the secrets to wealth and power. The price was $240.00.
I ignored the letter, shredded it, and threw it in the trash. Afew weeks later I got another long letter. This time I was offered the same "secrets" volume for $139.95. Again I ignored it and trashed the letter.
Since that time I have received several other lengthy letters. They have done everything to try to get me to pay them the $139.95, including calling the payment membership dues. In that particular letter the "secrets" volume was free, but dues were a one-time fee in the same amount as they were asking for the book before.
The last letter I received was dated January 3, 2015, and had an expiration date of January 9, 2015. Needless to say, I trashed that one just as I did all the others.
I was sure this was a SCAM when I got the first letter, and I only responded for the offer of the free booklet to see just how far these people would go to get money out of someone. I have found out that, although they are unscrupulous, they are VERY perisitent. I will continue to trash their letters, and I want to warn everyone else out there NOT to send money to them.
