The Money Store aka First Union Corp I paid off my car loan in July of 2000 Since then I have been requesting the pink slip to the Jeep Cherokee I purchased Roanoke Virginia
I had taken a loan to purchase a Jeep Cherokee. I paid off that loan in July 2000. After paying-off the loan, The Money Store took out the amount of $791.24 from my checking account but will not reimburse that money to me. I have been trying to get the pink slip to the Jeep Cherokee since I paid-off this loan and every time I am told that I still owe $500, but will not tell me what for nor will provide evidence that I owe that amount of money.
They sent me to a collection agency and I provided that agency with copies of the Consumer Loan Billing Statement dated 8/22/00 showing that I have a zero balance and also copies of the payment sent via Quick Collect. After many attempts to get this matter cleared, the collection agency filed a charge-off with the credit bureaus.
Recently, I was contacted by another collection agency named Coldata, Inc. located at 2590 Devon Avenue, Suite 204, Des Plaines, Il 60018. This company is now stating that I owe $626.55. I am in the process to dispute the validity of this debt. The Money Store aka First Union Corp should be forbidden to do business because they are ripping-off the consumers. By the way, when I first took the loan I was married and my name was Melanie Hamilton. The account number was 42-700012268.
