Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On Saturday, July 14th, my wife, two children, and I spent 3.5 hours in the worst customer service automotive dealership ever (Texas Direct Auto).  You are not made to fill like an important individual, rather you are given a buzzer (just like in a restaurant) and shuffled from person to person during the process.  While this was my worst car buying experience ever (been buying vehicles about every 2 years since I was 16), this was NOT the WORST of the problem.  The issue at hand is the theft of my Motorola XOOM tablet from my trade-in vehicle.

After I had been on the road for 2+ hours heading home, it dawned on me that I had left my $400+ tablet computer in between the bottom driver's cushion and the console of my trade-in vehicle (had been using a map on it to find Texas Direct's location). I immediately called the person listed as my "sales rep," a term I use very loosely, and left a message as to the tablet being left in my Tahoe.  He called me back to let me know that it was "not in the vehicle." My wife took over the call at this point as I was on the highway.  She talked to a manager that had the vehicle brought back over and supposedly looked himself, still not finding it.  They have offered to do NOTHING about this.

The XOOM was beside the seat when we pulled in to Texas Direct Auto as I had checked the map minutes before arriving to double check the side of the highway they were located on.  The Motorola XOOM was therefore stolen A) by whoever drove/inspected the Tahoe to give the trade-in quote OR B) by whomever else dealt with the Tahoe after I left the dealership.

YES, I accidentally left the personal property, but as soon as I realized it and called, it should have been a simple matter of the sales rep opening the driver's door and retrieving it for me, putting it in a padded/insured USPS envelope and mailing it back to me.

Obviously however, Texas Direct needs to background check better before hiring as they employ thieves.  This is not libel, this is pure facts. This had already been filed with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU where come to find out, they have an F business rating. eBay ratings mean nothing once you have seen this business in real life.  Please ponder this information closely before deciding to engage in commerce with Texas Direct Auto.

UPDATE 7/26 -- So far Texas Direct Auto seems to be doing everything right to repair this customer's dissatisfaction.  I have already received my equity overage check that I chose not to put down on the vehicle I did purchase (2008 HHR SS Turbo).  I am awaiting confirmation, but it looks like I should be receiving my replacement Motorola XOOM this next week as well.  While I cannot say with 100% certainty that I will do business with them again (as the overall purchase system there still seems flawed to me), I will give them the benefit-of-the-doubt that I may have just unfortunately been stuck with a single individual with questionable morals rather than the business as a whole.  I will update this again once I have indeed received my replacement tablet.
