Complaint Review: Terita's Pizza - Columbus Ohio

I have to agree with a lot of the peoples comments on here and i can understand that you are frustrated with it... I am by no means a raciest but I am so sick of black people using the Raciest card for everything! Yes black people were treated like slaves but that was 100's of years ago and people have gotten over it and so should you! What i can't stand is people posting things on this board that are not ripoff's DID YOU LOOSE ANY MONEY OR DID YOU LOOSE ANY PROPERTY? If not then its not a ripoff your just a bitter person who wanted to work at a stupid pizza place. You say your well educated then why is it such a big deal you didn't get a job there? I honestly have to agree that you are the raciest one here and should be reported for being so stupid! Good luck Mr. well educated pizza guy!

I think you have a right to be angry. But its how we handle our anger that will help us or hurt us. This may very well be subtle racism or blatant racism and don't forget you said they didn't hire women so sexism could be involved as well. You have made it clear that you are educated. Please think about this. As things get more difficult in this country, it will not get better it will get worse. When you own a business, again when you own a business you can pretty much hire and fire who you want within guidelines. Consider as I would advise all young people of color to LEARN how to run your own business. Become self sustaining in the legal sense. There is racism and there will always exist some type of ism that is unfair to someone. Consider starting a non profit organization that helps in some way, consider starting a business. Also think about why you would even want to work around people you really don't seem to like. I wish you the very best of luck. Because what ever is going to happen, they probably will not be going out of business and anger is not good for you. It keeps you from thinking clearly. Good luck!

i live down the street from teritas. i have been going there since i was 2 and now im 40. its the only place my dad got pizza. they are a respectable family owned business. they WILL NOT tolerate someone with a foul mouth. its a great place to eat. and its not a restaurant. it s a pickup. no eating there. i know a lot of places that will only hire black people. how come no one complains about that? oh i see, only blacks can be discriminated against. the white people are expected to shut up and take it up the a**

I have gone to both locations for years. I have only been served by women, and I believe "family" or friends of the same, as this is a SMALL restaurant not a large one, and the people have been of LATIN decent. not white. My wife is cuban so she orders for us...in spanish. I don't believe there is a deversity problem here...it's just that as a small place, there isn't a lot of jobs present, and as we did in the times growing up, if a son or daughter was old enough, it was time to join the "family business" and that's a legacy that goes on for years and years, not bigotry. I suggest you try larger venues where your degree will net the value of your worth.

Geez, Stanley, how about if you finally do yourself a favour and SHUT YER PIE HOLE. You do nothing but make up stories to try to get attention for yourself. You do NOT, by any means, come across as well-educated and well spoken. This is precisely the reason you were not hired for the minimum-wage, blue-collar pizza parlor job. So get on with your life! WE ALL belong to the same Phi Beta Kappa group. Some of you may know what that means. Some of my Ph.D. professors swore during lecture at Ohio State - so what! By the way the job fed you while at work absolutely free, was down the street in literal walking distance (saves more money in gas) and actually was paying full med, dent, and vision benefits with a 401k which is more than Bank One or Aetna Insurance or even Discover card was offering. So for all of you know it alls that think I was shooting low, lying about my education or thought I was just plain dumb and complaining...you all were wrong. Sure I'd like to work for Abbott Laboratory but hey guess what? I don't have enough experience yet and I have these little things that come in my mailbox every week called BILLS...so maybe you whiny whimps can call up mommy and daddy and get your bills paid but I still had to make due with whatever job I could get. My point was I was well-spoken, a good multi-tasker, honest and he was hiring. My resume clearly proved my qualities and I smile a lot - now how many black people out there do you know that smile????? Either way I got a great job in the SCIENCE field now and don't need him. He lost out. So for all of you that can't stand swearing from an educated person - F OFF ALL OF YOU!!!!

So what if the guy decided to use some swear words in a ost.. what is the big deal regarding that... as if none of you have ever cussed in your life? This looks like another attempt at people just tring to demean somone maknig a comment. Whether the guy swears here or not in no way represents his attitude when he's applying for a job or whe he's in the presence of others. The people at the place probably are racist-- from thestory this guy told regardless of the "cuss words" he used in the end which are very insignifucant it seems like a cear case of racism. There ARE MANY racist black people and businesses out ther and someone complaining about one isnt an alarming thing This actally shows the CONSUMER COMENTs attitudes hear...you are ridicously jugme\ntal and biassed... Personolly you have no idea what this person is like in reel life or how she acts with thosepeople. And for other people who postd, you don't know his sitation and why he wanted to work in the pizza shop. I had m asociates degree and was working towards my degree and worked numerous jobs. I completely believe this place probably DOES hire black people or women... and it's nothing to be shocked about because is still VERY prevalent everywhere ... for all those people especially the afri americans who seem to be leaning on the uncle tom side...it's a shame that you can't support those who fight against racism .. you seem to forget your not white either...

Stan I had to respond to your letter. Why do you feel it necessary to use such filthy language to make a point, if you are an educated person, there are numerous other ways to get your point across. I agree with an earlier comment that maybe the owner did remember you eating in their establishment, and no offens, but I am pretty sure that if you use that language with people you do not know, you probably used it in this pizza place. I also agree, if you have a BA or BS why are you applying for a job at a pizza place, but than again with the attitude you are letting shine through in your words, I can see why.

Stan, I too am an educated African American, and I understand where you are coming from. However, you are presenting yourself and your situation in a very negative light. I'm having some trouble understanding why, if you are so educated, you are trying desperately to work in a pizza shop. You should set your goals a little bit higher. Also, the previous comment about you being overqualified is true. That may be why they don't hire you...after all, you say you have a degree, but the position you are going after more than likely pays very little more than minimum wage. So in the meantime, try to find a position more suited to your educational background, and just be thankful that they serve you food after the way you've disrespected their business. If they were that racist, they would refuse to serve you...and they do have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Get your mind right honey.

A College guy that can't express himself without calling people names. We often shoot down applicants with bad attitudes, black, white, hispanic, etc... Stan, can't we all just get along. You say you are an educated person? Let me tell you, you had me behind you until you used the mutha F**ken thing. That is not very educated. Just because a Small Business doenst hire a Colored Person or says he doen't need help whe you apply & then hires someone else several weeks later doesnt a RACIST Make.
