I tried writing a check at Walmart and was declined by Telecheck. When I called the number I was given, they informed me that my SSN was atached to overdraft charges from Sept, 2015 on a Suntrust bank. We don't have Suntrust where I live so I contacted Suntrust thinking I had been a victim of fraud only to be told that they do not have any such information connected to me. Suntrust stated that Telecheck obviously made a mistake entering someone's SSN and the informaiton ended up under mine instead. Telecheck said they would send out forms for Suntrust to fill out to fix the information but never did.

When I called them back, I was told that the informaiton was correct and still on my file but the bank supposedly reporting the information did not even have that information. I am still fightng with Telecheck and have not received any forms from them trying to fix the problem. In the meantime, I can't even set up my son's college payments on my checking account that is actually under my name. Telecheck obviously does not bother to double check information given to them to verify if it is correct. Had they done that, then someone would have caught the mistake. They can just put any negative information on you and cause tons of trouble and do nothing to fix it. How do they get away with this??
