Tax Defense Network Waste of Time, Money and Energy Jacksonville Florida
When I initially contacted this company, I explained to them that I was being audited by the IRS and was being billed an exorberant amount for the three years owed. They asked what I was seeking and I told them that I wanted a reduction of the taxes with at least the elimination of fees and penalties. They said they could help me with that.
They put me on a payment plan for $500.00 per month until the total fee of $3000 was paid. I realized later that they would only start working on my case after the fee was paid. For months of them asking me for paperwork that I'd already sent, they then told me that I needed to file for the current year's taxes that I'd extended. They filed the 2013 taxes with a simple form allowing no standard deductions even though I'd sent them mortgage, charitable, and medical deductions, etc.
For moniths I didn't hear from them, and each time I called no one seemed to be familiar with my case. Finally, after receiving certified letters from the IRS, I called and told them that I needed to resolve the matter with IRS asap. They had my 2010 - 2013 taxes combined with more taxes and fees than I'd had when I sought them. I had to pay half the taxes and get on a payment plan for the other half. All said and done, this company did nothing that I couldn't have done myself with a couple of calls to the IRS.
I'm still trying to get matters resolved as well as paying payments. I'm told now that I should not have had to pay such an exhorbarent tax amount if I had gone with professional tax consultants. I'm hoping that I can get help with the remaining amount owed the IRS, but since I've signed off to agree to the amount to pay, I'm not sure what can be done.
I paid the Tax Defense Network to basically make my tax situation a whole lot worse due to their stalling and doing absolutely nothing to lower my taxes or eliminate my penalties, which they sould have told me they couldn't do in the beginning. It's sad that companies like this are allowed to operate in the USA. Especially with something as serious as taxes owed to the IRS. I need help, but I'm afraid to seek any other of these companies that propose to help with IRS problems.
