When I first called Tax Defense Network everyone was concerned and helpful with my tax situation. They talked to me for great periods of time about my tax issue and what they can do to settle it. I really trusted my consultant Timothy because he was straight-forward and always called me back when he said he would.

This past week, its like pulling teeth to get anyone on the phone. They are all in meetings or on the other line. I know what that means. It means they're blowing me off!

Prime example, I called today at 10am, it is now noon, and no one has called back. How long is that meeting again? I called last Friday at 5pm and no one called back. I received emails from Timothy and my TA Cheryl because they say thats the fastest way to contact them, but I want to communicate on the phone, it's faster and to be honest, it makes me more comfortable about the whole process. I feel like they are avoiding me.

I don't want to be paranoid but I'm so nervous about getting another tax debt company to handle my debt. I got burned by that witch Roni Deutch. I swore I would take care of this thing myself but the IRS is not lifting my wage garnishment and I can't pay a monthly bill without it lifted. Of course my ex-husband isn't helping me, my job won't go against the big bad IRS, so I got to do this by myself, but I need help!

I talked with Customer Care

I told them how I call and leave messages and only receive call backs some of the time, or just an email reply. I told them I want phone calls. They told me they updated my account but that some information will have to be sent in an email and there is no way around that.

I also spoke with my sister, who told me that with email I have a record of my correspondence with them and with phone calls I, personally, do not. So, with that in mind I have lightened up about receiving emails. Since my last post, and talking with Customer Care, I do receive more phone calls. Thanks to the commenters for the advice.

I found their world-class "Gold Star Client Care" contact info on their website. I say call them up and put them to the test. Let them know you feel mistreated, and see what they say. 1-877-856-5118

I think you are being too hard on them

It's not as if they are completley ignoring you. It seems they are legitimately trying to work with you. Like they said email is the best way to contact them and they are responding to emails so I would email them with everything you need.

How much have you paid them?

Sorry to say but the only thing that these "settle your taxes for less" firms tend to be good at is separating you from your money.

You would be better off dealing with a local CPA or EA.

You may be a little paranoid...

You said you called at 5 pm on a Friday and no one called back? What time do they close? If it is like most companies (5 or 5:30) then that is probably why you didnt receive a call. Also, what are you calling for, to check the status? Are they sending you that status in the email? I think you may be a little paranoid.
