You mentioned above how a few veterans tried to solicit money for sponsorship of a Veitnam Memorial and were declined per the stores policies. This was true...however you then stating that Target does not support US Veterans etc. In actuality Target was one of the main sponsors for the NATIONAL VIETNAM MEMORIAL in either 2002 or 2003 my memory fails me there. They just declines the requests of an individual for a local veterans tribute. So the above statements in this regard are complete falacies. Secondly you state how Target is owned by a Frech Company or the French? Again, False, not sure where you are getting this information. Target was founded in Minnesota in the 1970's. It is an American Corporation and its head corporate headquarters are and always have been located in Minneapolis Minnesota. I would challenge you to come up with the name os this "frech corporation that owns Target" as I am 100 percent sure this is false as well. Please be sure to verify you information before posting this libel in the future. Regards,
Cindy

I agree with Rosey in Amarillo, TX. Being a military person, I know that Target DOES support veterans and the military. If you go to the website snopes.com, it reports on urban legends, false/true allegations, etc. Please read up on things and research the topic fully before trashing a person/company publicly. Life is full of disappointments...don't take it out on a store just because you didn't get your way. Remember, WWJD? Take care and God bless!

INFO FROM TARGET WEBSITE: Target supports those who serve our country Target Corporation is proud to support our veterans and is grateful for the efforts of our men and women in uniform. For years, Target has donated funds and volunteer hours to local and national veteran and military organizations around the country. Target is a sponsor of many national and local veterans' and armed services' initiatives, including: *The national 2003 tour of The Wall that Heals, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund outreach initiative that honors our veterans and has a strong educational component for schools *The development and construction of the national World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. *The distribution of care packages to our troops stationed overseas *A co-sponsor of an event at Camp Pendleton that honored the thousands of military staff deployed to the Middle East. As a corporation, we count many veterans and military reservists among our more than 300,000 team members nationwide. To help support these team members, Target Corporation provides benefits for activated reservists, including pay differential, that surpass those benefits required by law. The Reserve Officers Association has recognized our company for these benefits. For more information on Target Corporation's support of veterans, please visit the website of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars at www.vfw.org/news/target.htm. I urge that anyone who reads this go to the website listed above for more info before deciding that the person in the alleged ripoff report is being truthful. it is true that target turns down some companies for donations only because target only has so much money a year to give to organizations. also, here is a list of organizations that target has national giving partnerships with. *United Way *American Red Cross *St. Jude's Children's Hospital *Target House (which offers room for families of St. Jude patients) *Elizabeth Glasier Pediatric AIDS *United Negro College Fund *Hispanic Scholarship Fund not to mention the $2 million a week target gives to schools. also, if a person has a target card, or target visa, they can choose a school & target gives money to that school everytime that person uses their target card. so, in ending, there is no ripoff here, just someone anxious to spread rumors about target.
