Obviously, some "dedicated" employee decided to input a rebuttal against what I stated. READ my report again. How can you say that no one is getting "screwed" when an item valued at $89.00 will be put back on store shelves to be sold again at $89.00 and they will only allow me $40.00 for the return? Yes, my friend thought that she had attached the correct gift receipt to my gift and therefore didn't keep the rest of her Target receipts. Since she paid cash, they cannot do a look up on the gift receipt. Now, you cannot tell me that this has only happened to me. I'm not trying to get something for nothing, I would just like to trade an $89.00 item for a $89.00 item (or greater and I pay the difference)! ... Re-read my report for the truth.....

Thank you Sharon! It's about time that SOMEONE understand what I was saying instead of thinking that I was trying to get something for nothing! Thank you!

You are not wrong. Do not let others make you question yourself.

I don't understand how you can say that I said that for having an opinion other than mine, you should be ashamed. Maybe you need to re-read MY comments and then YOUR comments. You stated that "it seems that you wish to make your own rules about things" and "it looks like you have a pattern of doing things YOUR WAY, to suit you". That to me is a personal attack, which got away from the original issue. Like I stated, you don't know me and for judging me the way you have, for THAT you should be ashamed. I don't care what your opinion is of this situation with Target. You are entitled to your opinion, but you shouldn't be judging me when you don't even know me. This is not about me, it's about Target and their exchange guidelines, which in MY opinion are less than desireable for consumers. It's time you go pick on someone else. I will not continue to argue and defend myself to someone I don't know!

An opinion is hardly shame-worthy

I submitted this a few days ago, but it never posted, so if it shows up twice, that's why. I hardly think this is an issue of which I should need to bother with 'being ashamed'. I wrote the impression you are giving me. For having an opinion OTHER than yours, you state I should be ashamed. In THIS initial duplicate report by you, you state a dedicated employee' had to rebut you. Okay, so at least you didn't tar me with the dreaded employee allegation, lololol. Instead, I am behaving shamefully. Oh my. You interpret my opinion as a personal ATTACK. Rather a strong word, I think, for a differing opinion, and interpretation of your actions. No, if I need to feel shame over anything, it certainly won't be over having an impression and opinion that differs with someone else's.

You are right that originally I couldn't figure out how to post an update. I don't really know how you could turn this Target issue into a personal attack on me. You don't know me, don't know my habits and should not judge other people. I DON'T make my own rules and follow rules (and orders) very well. You should be ashamed for making this something personal against me instead of the REAL issue.

It looks like a pattern of doing things YOUR way

Sandi, it does seem like you wish to make your own rules about things. On your original post, people responded. Instead of posting a rebuttal on THAT report, you created a whole, new one, saying the same thing. I figured, okay, she couldn't figure out how to post a rebuttal. But you CAN figure out how to post a rebuttal to your own report, where no one has commented, so clearly that was not a true impression I had. Your friend doesn't check the receipt when she is giving a gift. You don't care to follow simple, normal procedures for filing a free RipOff Report. It's looking like you have a pattern of doing things YOUR WAY, to suit you. So whether Target is right or wrong, refusing to follow the simple processes of RipOff Report is rendering your criticism of Target completely invalid to me.

I'm pretty sure that the item wasn't purchased for less money. In fact, the SALE price WAS $89.00. It originally retailed for $109.99. I have asked for the original receipt, but if you read my original post, it indicates that the giver assumed she had the right gift receipt attached and must have disposed of the correct receipt. I still stand by my original comments.... I will not argue with people regarding this matter. We are all entitled to our personal opinions and I truly think that this is the consumer being screwed over. I have NEVER thought about taking a product that I bought for one price and return it for a higher amount. I ALWAYS keep my receipts and IF I should have an issue, return the item in question with my receipt. This is a different situation. I plan on selling this item on Ebay or Amazon to get the $89.00 so that I can purchase myself a birthday gift that I can use!
