I am posting this ripoff report in HOPES that anyone who reads it will think twice before spending money on any food product from this company, and give you a warning of the careless attitude that this company has when it comes to invitees of their eating establishments. THEY POSTED NO WARNING FOR ME,SO I'LL POST ONE FOR YOU.

This has been an ongoing situation, and I will do my best to shorten it the best that I can.

March 19, 2002 I and my children and other friends and family all met at the Taco Bueno in North Richland Hills, we were meeting to have lunch with a group of people and then we were going to try on dress's and suits for a wedding. I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old that wanted to go to the restroom. We went into the restroom door and when entering the restroom I went crashing down on the cement floor, slamming my head into the wall. I sat there for a moment hoping someone would come in from hearing me yell for help. But no person heard so I limped down to the corridor and yelled at the group of women, one being my mother, that I was with and ask them to help me.

We all walked back to the restroom to gather my boys and to look at what had happened. My mother went out to help me sit down and the manager was sitting in a booth with an employee talking. She told the manager that I had fallen in the restroom and the floor is flooded. She and the others had went back to the restroom to see where the water was from and there was a hole in the ceiling that was leaking rain.

They came back out and the manager was still sitting in the booth with the employee. My mother went over to him and started yelling saying, I told you my daughter just fell in your restroom, are you going to do anything? He told the employee to go get the mop and mop up the restroom, and then he and my mother went and looked at the restroom together and he said yes we've had problems.

They were mopping up the floor and my mother came back out and sat with all of us. The manager came to the table and had his number on a piece of torn scrap paper and told us to call him later.

He stated to us, "That he was sorry, they've had the hole in the ceiling for a few weeks now and it's been leaking rain, we called maintenance over 2 weeks ago and they have not fixed it yet." We asked them why they didn't put an out of order sign on the door or signs on the floor saying danger wet water or even a bucket to catch the rain in, or something, and he said he thought that there was a sign there yesterday, maybe an employee moved it?" It had been raining all morning and it had leaked in the ceiling and it was about 1" deep and about 2 deep in other areas in the floor.

I asked him if I needed to fill out ay paperwork and he said no that's it. He was a very unsympathetic man, and didn't really care too much of what was going on around him, only thing on his mind was that one employee.

We all left and wasn't even able to finish our meals, due to the accident, and I was sitting there with soaked clothes. We went to the nearest target and purchased me some clothes because I lived too far away from where we were to change clothes and we had a meeting time to be somewhere.

I lasted only a short time, before the pain was so bad I had to cancel my plans and have my mother take me and my children home, unfortunately unable to finish what I had planned on accomplishing that day with the wedding party I was with.

Later that day, I started making calls to see who to speak with about going to a doctor to get medical attention. I talked with a couple of people and was told that the insurance company would contact me.

A few day's later the insurance company called. They told me at that time that should I need to go to a doctor to be seen, to do so and at my expense, and then after they receive the reports and after they review, that they would then have me reimbursed for my expenses that pertained to this injury.

Something is wrong with this picture. I had been off work and not able to do my job, I have no insurance, and not even money to pay my rent at this time, and I'm suppose to get a doctor, in which I don't have one, and pay him to look at me for something, no fault of my own, and then wait for my money to be reimbursed from the insurance company.

It was apparent that I didn't have money for a doctor so we were hoping that the problem would heal itself. Well it hasn't, it's gotten only worse. I have fought this tremendous pain long enough, and had no choice than be embarrassed by borrowing the money from a friend to go to the emergency room. I don't know what you did on Mothers Day but I spent mine in the emergency room, trying to get help. I spent another night with a migrane headache like the side of my head was going to blow off, and the pain in my neck and back does nothing but make me throw up. I had no choice, and for me to have to borrow money from someone for this is FLAT OUT RIDICULOUS.

The doctor said that I had a neck injury/ back injury/and thought that maybe the headaches and pain in my neck was from the tension of the pain and that my blood pressure was probably high (103/178} due to the pain that I was having. She prescribed Flexeril and lift absolutely nothing over 10 pounds and get rest until released from a private doctor. She also gave me a list of doctors to call and wanted me to follow up with one of them immediately. I explained this incident to the Doctor and how I couldn't afford to pay for a doctor again and said she didn't think that I shouldn't be paying the bills, and didn't quite understand it either. She said that if I couldn't get a doctor to see me go to K Clinic.

I contacted the K Clinic the next morning and went to them for a follow up on Monday 13, 2002 at 3:00. I was examined for 3 hours by Dr.***** and his staff and was put through horrific testing of mobility. The diagnosis was Cervical Strain, Lumbar Strain, Hip Contusion, Head Contusion all of right side of my body. I was prescribed Darvocet 100mg for pain and relief of high blood pressure and physical therapy 4 times a week. Total occupational disability thus far 8 weeks and probable period of measurable discomfort approximately 16 weeks. Noted that I am not able to work at this time and have been unable to work since 3/19/02, and that I have not reached maximum medical improvement.

I did go through the K Clinc and after speaking with the insurance company I told them that I didn't feel like I was getting the treatment that I needed and they said that I could change doctors at my descretion. I've recently changed doctors and am following up on medical treatment.

I've been told by the doctors that I am still unable to work and that I've been unable to work since this injury on 3/19/02. I am self employed of a furniture store in East Texas, it's approximately a 2 hour drive from our home. My husband and I ran this business together and started it in East Texas last Septemeber. It was a very successful store and we were proud of it. Through this injury I have been able to run the store, and my husband has been helping me with our 2 small children. He tried to take of the business and our home at the same time, but proved to be too much. Most of our business was 80% catalog orders which required us to pick up the merchandise in Grand Prairie from the wholesaler and take it too the store on a daily basis or deliver the furniture to the customers homes in different locations in East Texas. This was a very very difficult thing for one man to accomplish and also try to take care of me and our children.

We were forced to close the doors of the store this last weekend, and remove all of the contents and sell them in our front yard for a garage sale. We also had to call the furniture company that supplied our couches and recliners and have the items picked up so they could sell them to another company. They were able to do so, but we were out 2000.00 for doing that. We still have a lease with our store, but it will be a lease that no doubt we'll be sued for.

The only thing that has happened to me since this incident is a kneck inury, head trauma, back injury on the right side of my body from my shoulder to my hip and thigh area, terrible pan and suffering , stress and worry, unable to work, unable to sleep, considerable embarrasement, and problems between my husband and I, unable to be the mother and wife I need to be for my family. Unable to fullfill my financial obligations to others/

Although I had been and still am seeking medical treatment for these injuries, I and my husband was given the option to settle this case quickly, knowing that we had to weigh the difference of the pain over the worry. We then decided that we would go directly to Taco Bueno. We spoke with the partners at BENJAMEN JACOBSON AND MURRY GUNTZ in New York, Mr. Guntz, and asked him to listen to me for a moment and he just refused to discuss anything and said "I wouldn't understand his business even if he tried to explain it."

I'm sure that you, (the one reading this) have ran across a person before that thought they held a higher power than God, well have a conversation with him, I believe he truly feels that he's the greater one. I urge anyone who hasn't met someone in this condition to call him, it's Jacobson Partners in New York City.

Two weeks ago we received a letter stating that the insurance company would settle for $1000.00, well we said no of course, and then this last week was offered $1200.00 for pain and suffering to settle. The insurance adjuster Kelly Jones from Hartford Insurance said that this was the best she could do.

We file this report and hope that anyone who reads this to take seriously, your life and what you have, and don't assume that you have everything under control, and protect your own. As much as we would all like to think that everyone's Christians and has a kind attitude about life, and someone will help you if you need it, IT WON'T HAPPEN.

This has only brought us to the conclusion that the only thing that this company cares about is the almighty dollar, not what it cost a person, just to enter their premises.

Our only other recourse with this company is filing a legal litigation. We ask that if ANYONE reading this has ever had a bad incident with this company, please email us.

Thanks for your time.

I have been in business management for several years and your complaint makes no sense to me whatsoever. I am familiar with Taco Bueno and know that it is a multi-billion dollar company. I find it very difficult to believe that a company would treat an injured customer in this manner. I also find your entire story impossible to believe. There are tons of ads for personal injury attorneys that would not charge anything up front. If you had all of these problems, why didn't you contact an attorney? And how did you have a furniture store TWO HOURS away from your home? Like I said, nothing makes sense and your poor spelling and grammar makes your story even less believable. I am sorry for your misfortune but I don't believe a word of your story.

Dear Christine, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Had I slipped on "wet water" and recieved the unending list of injuries you received, I would have sought medical attention and brought a lawyer into the equation IMMEDIATELY! As for medical treatment, you could have gone to any emergency room and received medical attention/treatment, REGARDLESS of ablility to pay. One cannot be denied medical attention in an emergency situation. I find it difficult to believe you did not know this. An injury lawyer (and most lawyers) will not charge for an initial consultation, which a simple phone call would have revealed for you. Considering your tremendous loss/disabilities, you never once mentioned a lawyer in your testimony. There are a ton of lawyers who would have jumped on this in a heartbeat. With this in mind, though I believe the gist of your story, there is something just not right about it.
