Sunrise Delivery Service - Security Couriers owner: Ron Porat ripsoff and takes advantage of his employees and clients sherman oaks, California
I am a 4 year employee of this Sunrise Delivery Service. I am a courier/messenger my boss tells all of us that we are commission drivers but after a while when all you see is $8.00 an hr on your check stub and nothing else you start to get suspcious" Where's the commission?" he says we get paid by the job which is refered to as a "run" he makes us clock in with a two way radio so i clock in at 9:00am every morning and clock out at 6:00pm, but i dont get my first run till 930am so i sit for a half hour on the clock for free and i finish my last run at 430pm and sit till 6pm but he only pays from the begining of the first run till the end of the last run which means he has us sit for 9hrs and only pays for 7hrs. he gives us money for mileage but sometimes he gives us whatever he feels like from pay period to pay period but on his taxes he claims he gives us 50 cents a mile so he can get it back. mean while it goes on our taxes like we got 50cents a mile but if you do the math on the paystub it doesnt add up. he basically pays us whatever he feels like, and may i add we get no lunch breaks he works the hell out of us for as long as he needs us. When you confront him he tells us "if you dont like it leave" he even threatens that he lives here and in Israel and if we follow up on a lawsuit he will run too Israel. He hires only elderly men and people with criminal backgrounds to assure he can intimidate us cause he knows its hard to get work. He prays on the weak I hope someone will read this and help me do something about this man. Its a shame he came too this country and makes money and enjoys all the luxurys of the United States but at our expense, Its not fair someone please help! He deals with only the entertainment industry like Fox,CBS,NBC it makes me sick. He charges them for weight of a package but dont supply us with scales he tells us to guess the weight and he jacks it up and tell the clients he weighs it but he dont. I will appreciate any help or advice.
