Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My HOA switched to summit broadband several years ago.  Since then it's been a nightmare.

At first my internet would go out randomly 4-5 times a day.  Phone support insisted they saw no problem and they sent three different techs out.  All three techs did absolutely nothing to fix the issue.  After some research called and requested a 4th tech and told them I believed my upstream power to too high.  The 4th tech came out and when I explained that my upstream power was 49.75 and it would increase above 50 which is the limit the tech responded by saying "I've installed people with higher than 50 and they've had no issue.  It's not your upstream power"  I had to fight with the tech to get him to adjust the splitter to lower the power.  He finally said he would and claimed "it won't do anything though."  He lowered my power to 43 and I haven't had that issue since.

HOWEVER I've had another issue.  I'm supposed to be getting 20 down and 6 up.  However in the evening I find myself getting 10 down and 1 up.  Summit Broadband advertises themselves as a fiber optic network.  True Fiber optic is supposed to be a dedicated line and network for each house.  This means that either Summit Broadband throttles there customers (which they advertise that they don't), OR it's not true fiber optic and I'm sharing my network with my neighbors.  I've called about this issue almost 15-20 times in the past year.  They've sent out 6 techs, 2 of which were supervisors.  Every tech has insisted there's no issue.  Yet my network is constantly dropping speeds.  Along with working freelance IT, I also make a living streaming on twitch.  What this means is I need reliable internet that isn't consistantly dropping to LESS THAN A MEGABYTE per second.  I should be able to stream fine on a 6 mbps upload speed as I'm not even using half of that.  H owever I can't.  This company insists they don't throttle, insists there's no issue, and has refused to help for over a year.  All the while charging me full price on my bull.  Summit Broadband is a bunch of liars and scam artists and need to be run out of Florida.  Whether you live in an HOA, are on the BOD of an HOA, or just live where you can have your own isp, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS
