I purchased a 2016 Subaru Legacy 10/31/2015. This season is rated 26 MPG city, 36 MPG Highway, & 30 MPG combination. I am only getting 24-27 MPG & I only purchased this car because of the MPG. I commute for work Monday-Friday a minimum 240 miles a day on average! I have research a lot of information about the MPG & with driving 95% HWY & 5% CITY I should be getting 35 MPG! Before I decided to purchase a Subaru I also did a lot of research & all I read about was all very positive. Talking about how reliable Subarus are, how amazing thier customers service is, & how conservative they are on MPG.... Well that IS NOT MY EXPERIENCE AT ALL!!! Customer service has been horrible... Telling me that it's my driving that is causing the mileage! But I don't care how crazy someone drives it isn't going to get that bad of mileage compared to what is reported! The worst part of all this is I do know that most seadans are getting the combination or higher! I'm just asking for a vehicle that performs what has been reported. Subaru is just blowing me off. I even have 5 other vehicles that I have driven and have always gotten 1-2 MPG less the HWY rating never even close to city reporting and I always drive the same way! One last thing ironically the brand new 2017 Subaru Legacy is now reported at 25 MPG city, 34 MPG highway, & 29 MPG combination!

Weird fact: Subaru is not at fault here.

The people who produce the estimated fuel mileage figures used in advertising and such are the US fedaral Government. And gues what, even they know they are out to lunch in a big way.

To get the advertised milage is posible, but boring. To get there: Do not exceed 55 mph. Do not change speed. Do not slow down, stop speed up once at you sub 55 MPH crusing speed until you have burned a full tank of gas.

Do not drive in hot weather needing AC, or in the snow or rain.

If you do this test, you will get the advertised MPG and a little beter.

But Not In The real World of commuting!

Call your congressman and demand more realistic MPG estimates in advertising!
