I've been a Tracfone customer  dba "StraightTalk" customer fro several years using 3 different phone devices and I also have a wi-fi device for my laptop with them as well. As of September I chose to go back into the truck driving field and now I travel exstensively through out the eastern half of the United States. Unfortunately, Straight Talk does not thave coverage in all of the areas that I go to. So, if I have a breakdown or have to call the customer for best delivery directions, I can't even place a phone call AT ALL with StraightTalk's restricted service in these areas. When I called to ask them to "unlock" the phone number that I've had for several years, I got this "supervisor" who stated that the sytem states that this phone number must be active for 12 months, when actually it's been activated with 3 DIFFERENT phone devices within the Tracfone network within the last 13 months or longer. I lost a phone in a recliner on Chrismas Day of 2016. So I get a Max Duo II with an octocore processor from Walmart. In the spring of this year 2017, I was relegated to only 20 hrs a week at my job so switched to a phone I saw advertised on The Home Shopping Network which was a Samsung"Tracfone" with 1350 yearly mins. for $79.99. I used the SAME phone number to activate THAT phone but it did take them a week to do so!! I had to renew that payment several times because I traveled in sales and used the phones constantly throughout the day. I had no problem at all renewing the plan. So when I get to the end pf my training with the trucking company at the end of September, I swtiched my service back to a monthly plan with the Max Duo phone. Within the last 12 days I've been in 3 areas with no service available. I called Straight Talk and got a "supervisor who didn't apperciate my years of being a customer with their Co. So when my plan runs out of service next week on the 19th of December. I simply will not renew my phone OR my wi-fi device with them. Overall my customer experience in the past when switching the phones I mentioned above the was annoying, aggravating and frustrating to say the least. Tracfone used to buy advertised on a nationally syndicated morning radio show, now I see why the "Big Show" guys don't endorse this company's products any more. POOR, POOR physical coverage and even POORER customer service.!!!! Chosse another pay as you go phone plan.
