The State of Michigan has sold out to the insurance companies.  They Force you to get auto owners insurance on your car through "no-Fault" laws.  Then They turn around and give the insurance companies the right to defraud you of your benefits and pass laws that make it impossible to sue anyone to recover your losses.  The big one is that a disabling severe soft tissue injury is not a serious enough of an injury to sue anyone over.  (Me)

Second, if you or your love one dies or is seriously injured by a pharmaceutical drug you can not sue if you live in michigan when it happened. (My Dad)

Third, Better yet, if a doctor misses a grapefruit sized Tumor on your adrenal gland and you die from cancer because of it.  The doctor cannot be sued because the state of michigan sold out to the insurance company.   (My Mom)

Warning:  Move to Michigan at your own Risk.  One Accident and you can lose EVERYTHING!!!
Not to mention Spend your whole life in pain even though Physical therapy will help,  The insurance company has the right and will deny you your benefits.

If you had followed the whole sorry health insurance issue you would have seen that every time the Democrats tried to implement any of the things you are talking about, the Republicans faught it tooth and nail.  I actually don't trust any of our legislators but the insurance industry definitely has the Republicans on a short leash.

Besides, none of the new reforms were in place at all when the events this person is talking about took place.

One thing is for sure though, our health care system is a mess and can't measure up to any of the rest of the industrial world. It's embarassing.

Not surprising in a country where a Wellpoint executive wrote the health care 'reform' bill and the senator who killed the public option received about $3 million from the insurance 'industry.' Recently it was discovered that wellpoint routinely canceled the policies of women with breast cancer and insurance executives have actually had the nerve to defend these practices. Out government's solution--force citizens to purchase policies from these very same companies with no alternative such as the public option. Obama turned out to be just a corrupt as any republican when it comes to big business.
