After being with State Farm a number of years. I hit someone bumper. Even after she even admit she saw me coming out of my parking place at Sams Club.

She told me she tried to get around me as fast as she could. I looked back and she must have been in blind spot.

Now they have already made the claim and it is over 750. My agent told me I will lose my 15% discount of "good driving" and accident free. She told me this might even put me in a "high risk".

I can't believe they would take away my 15% good driving discount. And they raise my rates. And then she said " at least you didn't have to pay the 900.00. " To pay for the damage to her car, that why you have insurance. No joke.....

I think State Farm is a rip off. And they should be nicer to their long standing customers.

I think it was a little stiff myself. I have had no accidents or tickets since this "Mishap". Plus she was rude to point out. I didn't have to pay out the 900.00 to have the other ladies car fixed. I am checking into other auto insurance. Plus, she told me this would go on my driving record. She treated me like I have had a record of having accidents. And lots of unpaid tickets! I felt like a crimnal over this. When it wasn't even a fender bender. I know you shouldn't take lightly any accident. But give me a break. The lady I hit told me "she saw me coming" and "tried to get around me". Question do you try to get around a moving car! Thanks for your ins and outs.

First of all, how many years have you been with State Farm? I used to work there and I know a lot of their ins and outs. I must say I personally don't think I'd ever insure anything with them, but that's just my personal opinion. The point is, if you have been insured there more than ten years and have not had any moving violations lately, TYPICALLY they WILL grant an exception for a violation or accident and a) not surcharge you for it and b) not remove your discounts. Even still, if you haven't been there that long, which judging by your discount percent you've been there between 3 and 6 years? They may remove your discount, but there is no surcharge for the first at fault accident. The only "punishment" if you will is removal of the discount. My final comments? State Farm is cheap. There are many things agents can do to policies to get the insured the lowest price possible, but the underwriters like to give them hell about it. There is also a lot about insurance that the individual consumer doesn't typically know. Most people just figure "I need it." and don't bother to look into the ins and outs of it. -Andrew
