We have been customers of State Farm Insurance for many years through the Jeff Eubanks agency in Russellville, Ar.  We recently filed a claim for the many, many thousands of dollars damage we suffered from a recent storm.  Their payment for coverage was $1,900.  What good is it to pay these people $1,000++ in premiums only to get the shaft.

In our opinion, you would be better served, placing your annual premium money in a cookie jar for when you suffer a loss, than buying insurance from these con artists. I am old, I do not have a Twitter account and I am not on Facebook.

Please help me get some satisfaction, by posting this thing everywhere to get the word out and help stop someone else from getting a royal Ripoff.

Arkansas has barred Public Adjusters being licensed to help you or from representing you and therefore you are left to the mercy of the insurer keeping you at a great disadvantage.

Navigating any property claim is like a maze. The insurer uses preferred contractor lists to send out to low ball your repairs and patch rather than fully replace items that will prematurely fall apart in 2 years after the circus leaves town, once again victimizing you again.

State Farm sets most of the industry standards over any other carrier. They own and control the pricing costs thru Xactimate System which is nothing short of PRICE FIXING which their pet contractors agree to if they expect to get more work, another extortion deal made thru Home Depot and Lowes where they get volume discount Kick -Backs in millions at the end of the year. That does not affect a refund or lower your premiums. But all in all they are not the bad guys everyone makes them out to be. There are far worst animals out there fleecing the public.

You have to know how to navigate the claim maze and use a claim advocate or public Adjuster, but your State made sure they keep help away from you by barring Public Adjusters. Its just you and the big bad wolf. You can sue but few property losses are worthy of a suit, after paying the attorney there is no money left to fix the house.

You do have the right at any time in the claim to demand "Appraisal Under the Policy". The CONDITIONS are spelled out in your policy section when you have a claim. You will almost always
come out with far more money which offsets any costs for your appraiser and half of the umpire fee. Of course the trick is to make certain the umpire selected is truly impartial and not bias toward State Farm. You may wish to demand Appraisal and hire an appraiser which may be a contractor, independent claim adjuster or just about anyone that is over 18 and competent to fight for your cause, even your pastor or neighbor. Its the umpire that needs to be impartial. If he likes State Farm or is insured with them,  then reject him as biased. Appraisals can cost $2-5000 but will get you a lot more money if the adjuster scope is low balled or simply overlooked many damaged items.

The Insurance Dept cannot help you in determining the value of your loss or make SF pay more money, but if they violated or breached the contract with you and are guilty of shabby claim handling, they can help you get the adjuster back on track.

Sometimes the insurers are like a bad slot machine that never pays off.

Colorado,
If they failed to live up to the terms of your policy with them....

immediately file a claim with your states insurance commissioner.

If they did follow the terms, but you aren't satisfied, increase your coverage or decrease your deductible.

Your premium would likely be higher if you do this.

Bottom line, if they followed the policy terms, no Ripoff.

No, I don't work for them, don't even like them.
