In March of 2012 I purchased a 250 cc Chinese scooter. In South Carolina a 250cc has to be titled and tagged as a motorcycle. I had to wait for all the paperwork to come in and buy insurance before i could get it legal. The scooter arrived in the original manufacturers crate and was in perfect condition. I finally got it legal around the first of may.

On the 13th of June, a clear, dry, beautiful sunny day, on a straight road a man turned left dead in front of me. Lucky for me i was only running about 20 mph so i was not seriously injured. The driver of the car did not stop when i impacted his car, he pulled on across the road and parked, in doing so he totally destroyed the front of the scooter, plus a lot more.

The police were called and he was sited, the wreck was his fault, there was no doubt about that, so i was not going to have any problem. That is when i started dealing with state auto insurance. I was contacted  a week after the wreck, just to get a statement and start the proccess, but it was 5 weeks after the wreck before an agent contacted me about my scooter. That only happened after I got her name and number , I called and left her a message, she called back an hour later, and as luck would have it she recieved my file the same day i called her 5 weeks after the wreck. Her name was Amy Caddell Senior adjuster. She was rude from the start. Several days later she offered me $1700 for my scooter, I told her I could not replace my month old scooter for that price, not counting delivery costs, and then the fees to get it registered. She informed me right quick that she was not required to replace my month old scooter. I made several attempts to compromize with her, she refused all efforts. then she said that the impound yard where she stored my scooter was going to drop the scooter off at my house. I told her nobody would be home to recieve it. I got home from working out of town and found the scooter scattered over a wide area where they had litterally thrown it off a truck, totally destroying any body parts that were not broken, plus it landed on it's side somewhat upside down and all the fluids had leaked out into my yard. I contacted Amy Caddell and told her and she told me it wasn't her problem or responsibility. And i'm still arguing with HER.
