On May 4, 2007 I was called by Mr Mike Weston a sales rep for Startup Essentials. He convinced me of the virtues of a home based business an e-commerce based that his company was involved in training. I was told I would have to give along with my social security number my checking and routing number. I believed this to be necessary in receiving funds in the future of the business. This turned out to also be a Lease for their training material. A-1 Leasing / Bond Corp. had signed me to a three year lease at $142.36 per month to be directly withdrawn on the 25th of every month.

To date funds had been withdrawn on May 25 and June 25. On May 7, 2007 I called and spoke with Julie Meeks to begin the cancellation process. I sent back the unopened training material as soon as I received it. I sent it back via U.S. Postal Label/ Receipt #EQ13 9180 102U S

Status: Delivered. Item was delivered at 11:35 AM on May 16, 2007 in Dallas TX 75244. The package was accepted and signed for by E. PINOLA. On May 11, 2007 I followed up my call with an e-mail to Julie Meeks with no response back. I soon learned that Julie Meeks was no longer with Startup Essentials.

Legally I believe there to be a three business day cancellation period in which I was trying to invoke. My focus and attention went to A-1 Leasing. On June 4, 2007 I spoke with Steve (sorry no last name) 1-866-552-8847. I told him of my efforts to cancel he told me I was bound to this three year lease and it was up to the people at Startup Essentials to resolve. I was then referred to a manager Mr. John Brutsche of Startup Essentials 866-838-1872, Ext.7850. He was aware of my efforts and correspondence I had with Julie Meeks. My first e-mail to Mr. John Brutsche was June 5, 2007. On June 11, 2007 Mr John Brutsche sent this response Anthony, since your lease is with A-1 Leasing you will have to deal directly with them. My e-mail response to Mr. John Brutsche is that they already received the funds from A-1 Leasing and Startup Essentials should be refunding the funds back to A-1 Leasing. This would be the right course of action and honor my cancellation request that was first started on May 7, 2007.

The last and final correspondence I received from Mr. John Brutsche was June 11, 2007 We will not and cannot alter, amend or terminate your lease with A-1 Leasing. If they want to terminate the lease early , that is their prerogative, but it is their decision to so, not ours. After waiting for an e-mail response on June 22, 2007 I called and left many messages for Mr. John Brutsche 866-838-1872, Ext.7850 as of today July 2, 2007 he has not responded. This was filed with the BBB on July 2, 2007.

One way to at least get their website off the Internet is to file complaints with their web host. I've done some research and found that their site is hosted with GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy's abuse department can be reached by email at [email protected]. Their phone number is (480) 505-8899. If enough people complain, GoDaddy will take the site down. Keep checking. They will, no doubt, move to another host. You can visit samspade.org every now and again to see who they are hosted with. Email that company and have them taken down. It doesn't take but a second to email the hosts and - when enough people do - the site will have to be taken offline.
