Starpower Telecomunicaation CO. Holding the phone line hostage to make money out of customers
Hello: Thanks for giving a voiceless consumer like me a power
to speak up against a company who ly about thier customer services and they do anything to make money out of people without giving them what they advertise. About a year ago I swich my residential phone line from Bell Atlantic to local telecomunication company name "Starpower".
This company have many TV comercial and advertises about thier best customer services. When I decided to move to a new place, I contacted them to transfer my line to the new place or give me new phone service. They said it will take them two weeks t o do so. My respond was I am not satisfied with thier services and I would like them to desconect this phone number and I will get the service with Bell Atlantic.
Again they said it will take them tow weeks to do that. I made this request on Feb/4/2000. Now is March/3/2000 when I am filling this report and still that old phone number is on and I am worried who is going to be responsible for all chages or posible misuse of it?
Mean while I have called them many times and any time I call their customer service line's respond voice says "The current waiting time is exceeded 5 minutes" then I have t o wait at least 45 minutes until I can get life respond from their representative (This may sond like just a complaint from an outrages customer but please try it for yourself and call their customer sevice line at 1-888-782-7313) and any time I call they do will say the disconection will take place next day or so.
I believe they keep this phone alive to make money out of me and rep me off. I appriciate your concern and please keep track of this record.
