Been with Nextel since it was FleetCall 1994. My last upgrade was 2009 on Nextel with two i365 motorola iden phones. I used these until I got a letter from sprint saying that the Nextel Service in your area will be decommissioned 2012 (which it was here in Kentucky Rural) My letter says I can receive two phones for free for migrating to Sprint CDMA. (I was eligible anyway). So I go in to Louisville Store and upgrade on a Fri. Phones worked Great at the store.

Left store started having issues with both sprint devices (wife and I) When I got home in Valley Station we had no reception. Called sprint techs did all they asked reboots you name it over 2 hours on the phone. Sprint tech sayes probally a tower issue we will have it fix in 14 days to please be patient and he will credit us 15.00 for each phone. I am a slow redneck, but not stupid realizing I had only 14 days to return. Talking with neighbors they too went thru same thing migrating over from Nextel.

So I went back to store on Monday (3 days later) and asked to reconnect my old Nextel Devices they responded by saying they are not allowed to (I gots bent a little sideways at this point but remained respectfull) The Store confirmed that the CDMA service was spotty where I live. (I corrected her and said non-exsistant) I was forced to goto ATT the only other carrier that worked where I live.

 The Sprint store rep took back the phones and charged 35.00 per phone return fee (I did sign that contract and seen it but thought since its not my fault it didnt work there thought maybe I wouldnt get charged) anyway returned the free phones and had to pay 70.00 onto my debit card for returning phones that they told me I had to migrate to for free for getting off the Nextel Side. The Lady said she would wait and not cancel accounts because then I would loose my numbers Ive had sense 1994.

I ported the numbers to ATT (boy what a different Atitude at ATT seems like they actually like the customer) ported from Sprint to ATT my old Nextel numbers and call the Sprint store wed and Sprint Corp customer service they both confirmed phones credited back and service is terminated after only 5 days. Then 17 days later I get a Bill from sprint for $512.36 cents. I was charged Activation fees (I was allready at Nextel for decades) I was charged a month in advance (I was charged a month ahead in 2009 when I got the Nextel devices upgraded) I was current on my Nextel Bill and paid a month in Adavance.

Then there was data charges (isigned up for family share on simple devices not smart phones) Then charged 2 cancellation fees of 150each. I called and got account services they said since I ported out I was charged the cancelation fees. Talked to her supervisor same story. I have been with Nextel since 1994 and havent upgraded since 2009 then you(Sprint) tell me I have to switch to Sprint CDMA that doesnt work where I live and your map even shows it" They said thats policy.

I told them I allready paid 70.00 dollars to return phones that were Free to migrate on now this?" Sprint would not credit me and the amount is on my otherwise perfect credit report as "derogartory" Dan Hesse is a B#$%%!h he is the the helm of this cesspool and d**n sure the brain child behind the "We know we are going to loose the Nextel Loyalist so lets get them good!) How in the Hell else can you explain this.

I assure you I am sincerly accurate on counts stated here. on the other hand (((competitor's name redacted))) learned of my story and gave me two devices free family texts for 6 months and a discount on service. I had to call (my fault on phone I think) (((redacted))) picked up in under a minute with a cheerfull American Rep in Georgia and solved my issue with phone in 4 minutes extremely professional. Even though (((redacted))) is $18 higher a Month the perfect rural coverage and great customer service thats here in the USA is worth it.
 
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
