Spring Meadow Gas Company ...Pennsylvania Gas Company rip-off
In Indiana, PA there is a little known company called Spring Meadows Gas Company. It is a subsidiary of the the property Managment company called The Westgate Group.
The Westgate Group designed and built 40 or so townhouses that they rely solely on the gas supplied by Spring Meadow Gas Company. Average gas bill for a dwelling is over $100 per month year round. Gas price are inflated to $7.38 when the average price is $6.00.
They are deliberatly ignoring the gas deregulation laws set forth by Pennsylvania. Not only does the company set inflated prices but the heating units in the townhouses are old, inefficient and misproproperly maintained. In a 3 bedroom, two floor townhouse, I have 4 vents upstairs and 1 downstairs. The thermostat is also located on an uninsulated wall downstairs which creates a very large temperature difference between the two floors because the sensor is always lower then the actual temp.
This has never been brought to light because it is typically rented to college students.
